Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up in Kampala and transfer to Mgahinga National Park
On day 1 of the 3 Days Mount Sabinyo Tour in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, depending on your location in Kampala, you will be picked up by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park the journey which lasts 8 to 9 hours’ drive. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Ichumbi Hotel – Mid-range, Traveler Best Camp – Budget Accommodation.
Day 2: Hike Mount Sabinyo – Full Day
On day 2 of the 3 Days Mount Sabinyo Tour in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, after breakfast, carry your packed lunch boxes from the lodge and be driven to the park headquarters by your driver guide. Arrive and be briefed about the hiking rules.
After briefing, you will be accompanied by the park range guide through the hiking trails. The hike to the summit can take 8 hours depending on the climatic conditions and other factors on that particular day. The summits raise an elevation of about 3,645 meters above sea level. As soon as you access the peak of the mountain, expect to have a spectacular view of a caldera and the neighboring volcanoes within the park, spend some time. After, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at the lodge as above.
Day 3: Depart back to Kampala
You will wake up and drive back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe where you will have en-route lunch, take photos, buy craft items, and then continue a drive straight to Kampala. Arrive in the evening and your driver guide will drop you off at any place of convenience.
