6 Days Chimpanzee, Wildlife, and Bwindi Gorilla Tour is a short combined wildlife and primate safari package that leads you to Uganda’s top tourism destination. That is Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee trekking, Queen Elizabeth National Park for wildlife viewing, and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking adventure among others.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park – Bigodi swamp
On day 1 of the 6 Days Chimpanzee, Wildlife, and Bwindi Gorilla Tour, upon arrival, you will be picked up by our professional company representative/ driver who will drive to Kibale Forest National Park the only renowned primate capital in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Arrive early afternoon for lunch in Fort Portal town, visit the crater lakes, and embark on a 2-3 hours guided nature walk in the Bigodi swamp and experience the different birds and primates species. Thereafter, connect to the park to check in your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Isunga Lodge – budget, Kibale Tourist Safari Lodge –Midrange.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will go for chimpanzee trekking with your tracking gear. Meet your guide at the head office then enter the rainforest to start searching for the chimpanzee, this will take 2-5 hours to allocate the habituated chimpanzees family. On seeing them, you will spend an hour with the chimpanzees while learning about their behaviors, and habits, playing, enjoy photo shoots as well as video recording.
After tracking, return to the lodge, refresh and have lunch, and check out to connect to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is a 3 hours drive from the beautiful Fort Portal en route at the Equator. Dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari Cottages for budget, Elephant Habs Safari Lodge – Midrange

Day 3: Lion tracking (Optional) – game drive and Boat cruise
You will wake up early and connect for an option lion tracking experience or go for an option of a morning game drive to catch up with the early risers in the Kasenyi area. Explore the Kasenyi sector – a sounding site as a mating ground for Kobs and a hunting ground for lions. While on the game drive, you will be able to view some of the big four games including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, also different species of antelopes, warthogs, and white Colobus monkeys mentioned but few.
You will then connect to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will head for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will get a chance to see various bird species, elephants and buffalos, hippos, and crocodiles at the lake shores. Return and relax at the lodge as above

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will have an early breakfast, and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector for an opportunity to adventure the rarely tree-climbing lions. This however is not guaranteed, have an en-route lunch and continue to drive to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, accommodation will be provided depending on your trekking sector. Day 5: Gorilla trekking experience
Have an early morning breakfast and then embark to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides before heading on your gorilla trek. Thereafter, you will walk into the forest and trek until you find the gorillas. Gorilla trekking can last 2 to 7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas in their natural habitat, you will be allowed only an hour and then return to the meeting center to be rewarded gorilla certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. Your driver/guide will drive you back to your hotel to relax and have a night stay as above.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe – Departure
Enjoy early morning breakfast, and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, and the Equator. It’s an 8-9 hours’ drive arriving in the evening. You will either be dropped off at a location you advise or at the airport for your onward flight marking the end of your 6 Days Chimpanzee, Wildlife, and Bwindi Gorilla Tour in Uganda
