Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali very early in the morning. Enjoy the scenic drive to Ruhengeri. Upon arrival at the park headquarters, get briefed about the activity to be done, highlighting the rules and regulations. You will go gorilla tracking in one of the habituated gorilla families in Parc National des Volcans (the group can be known at the time of booking a safari). Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a breathtaking experience. If you are lucky you can get to the gorillas, spend one hour with them, and be back at the base in time for a late lunch!
Please note that some gorilla families are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe for Canopy Walk
Breakfast will be served early meet your driver guide to transfer to Nyungwe forest southwards. On the way, you will be able to watch a number of attractions like the rolling hills of Rwanda, the homesteads, and so on. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the National Museum of Rwanda, and the king’s palace in Nyanza with lunch en- route.
Canopy Walk: After lunch, head for the canopy walk in Nyungwe National Park which will give you exceptional views of the park as you walk along the suspended metallic trail in the trees. You will get to view various primates swinging within the branches, like the chimpanzees, and different monkey species, you will be able to watch numerous bird species and after the rewarding experience, you will connect to your lodge/ hotel. Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest
Chimpanzee Trekking: Enjoy breakfast and embark for briefing before entering the forest trails to search for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. On finding them, you will be able to spot the chimpanzee as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes between 1 to 3 hours. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, optional to participate in a tea estate safari which will give you an opportunity to watch how the tea is harvested and processed, and how it is made among other amazing features at the estate. After the rewarding safari, drive back to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View- Mid-range.

Day 4: Departure to Kigali
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and depart back to Kigali. You will embark on a city tour where you will visit the Kimironko market and the Kigali genocide memorial site to understand more about the dark period of time during the 1994 Rwanda genocide. After having your en- lunch, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your scheduled flight back home.
