14 Days Uganda Budget Safari : The Uganda 14 Days Safari takes you to four incredible national parks of Uganda including Murchison falls national park, Kibale national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, and Mgahinga national park. Each of these national parks has their own unique attraction that makes the park outstanding featuring game viewing, boat cruises, gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, nature walks and above a holiday to relax.  This trip will start with a visit to Murchison falls national park for a Big 5 animals experience and a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls and visit the top of the falls as well. Proceed to Kibale national park, home to the endangered chimpanzees and other 12 primates. Queen Elizabeth national park is blessed with a number of animals, craters and most especially it is a home to tree climbing lions and to Mgahinga national park – home to the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in Uganda. Your last visit will be in Lake Bunyonyi which is the best way of wining up your trip with a relaxation moment.

Detailed Safari

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, on the first day of your 14 Days Uganda Budget Safari you will be met by our company representative/driver guide, who will drive you to your hotel in Kampala, dinner and overnight stay at Fairway Hotel for mid-range/Forest Cottages for budget

Day 2: Rhino tracking – Murchison falls national park

You will be picked up early morning after your breakfast and connect to Ziwa rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking. It’s a 2-3 hours’ drive from Murchison falls national park. After trekking, connect to drive to Murchison falls national park. You will enter through Kichumbanyobo gate and proceed to the top of the falls before you proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Heritage Safari lodge for budget/Pukaba Safari Lodge for mid-range

Day 3: Game drive and launch cruise – Murchison Falls

Early morning breakfast and then go for a game drive where you will spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs among others. In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise on the park’s main tourist attraction the unique Murchison Falls as well as the River Nile with its streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. Dinner and overnight as above

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

You will have breakfast early and then drive to Kibale forest national park with lunch en-route in Fort portal town and a visit to Amabere Ganyinamwiru stalagmites site and crater lakes. Proceed to Kibale arriving in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee forest guest house for midrange/Isunga lodge for budget

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk – Kibale forest

Have early morning breakfast and go for briefing and start Chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees.

After trekking, you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland where you will experience a lot of bird life and unspoiled nature. Dinner and overnight at lodge as above.

Day 6; Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

You will have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will arrive well in time for lunch with en route Crater lakes and caves. Enjoy your lunch and unwind at your lodge or embark on a brief evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Pumba cottages (budget) or Parkview Safari Lodge (midrange)

Day 7: Lion tracking/Game drive and launch cruise- Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will go for early lion tracking experience and morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector where you may spot various animals like the lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, leopards among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, in the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise where you will spot various water animals like Hippos and crocodiles, the cruise will also enrich you with various water birds. Dinner and overnight as above

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park – Kisoro

After having your morning breakfast, you will set off for Bwindi passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where you may spot some tree climbing lions. You will have lunch en-route, arriving in Bwindi in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Haven Lodge for budget option/Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge for mid-range

Day 9: Gorilla trekking experience

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing and go for gorilla trekking. This could take 4-6 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas. After trekking, meet your driver and return to your lodge for relaxation with an optional community tour, dinner and overnight at lodge as above

Day 10: Golden monkeys tracking – Mgahinga National Park and Lake Bunyonyi

You will have breakfast and head to the park headquarters for golden monkey tracking. Start trekking at 7 am taking about 2-5 hours tracking and on finding them, spend an hour with them before you return to meet your driver.

Have lunch then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Take a boat cruise along Lake Bunyonyi visiting the various islands and interacting with the locals. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi overland resort (budget)/Arcadia lodge (Mid-range)

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

You will enjoy your morning breakfast and if you missed the boat, do the canoe then transfer to Lake Mburo national park with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch and also visit Igongo cultural center and learn about the Ankole culture. Arrive in the evening at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Eagle’s Nest Lodge (budget) Arcadia Cottages Lake Mburo (Mid-range)

Day 12: Game drive and afternoon boat

You will go for an early morning game drive; the park is home to herds of Impala, as well as the more uncommon Topi, Eland, and Klipspringer. Burchells Zebra and buffalo also graze these areas. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch, and then do a boat cruise in the afternoon where you will see hippos and different bird species. Return to lodge as above

Day 13: Transfer to Jinja

After breakfast, meet with your guide to embark on your journey to Jinja crossing from the weatern part of Uganda to the central – Kampala then proceed to the Eastern part of Uganda – Jinja city where we find the true source of River Nile and Lake Victoria which is the longest in Africa. It’s a 6 hours’ drive with en-route stop at the Uganda Equator, lunch in Kampala and arrive in Jinja in the afternoon. Check-in at your booked hotel before you connect to explore Jinja visiting the Itanda Falls and the source of the Nile that will be blended with an evening boat cruise along Lake Victoria for relaxation. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at 2 Friends Jinja Guesthouse for mid-range/Source of the Smile Hotel for budget

Day 14: Water rafting experience – Kampala/Entebbe – Departure

Enjoy morning breakfast on the last day of your 14 Days Uganda Budget Safari ; drive to the starting point of your rafting experience after receiving a briefing from the experts. This is a full day activity. Return for late lunch and embark on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe where you will be dropped off at your own booked accommodation or be dropped off at Entebbe airport for your check-in time for flight back home.
