Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
You will be picked up by our company representative driver guide from your hotel or Kigali International Airport, brief you about the safari as you drive to the Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kigali Genocide memorial site and Kimironko market to witness one of the amazing tourism sites in Kigali city. Then after, transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park which takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive passing through Katuna border in Kabale. Along the way expect to enjoy spectacular views of rolling hills in Rwanda, terraced farmlands, beautiful scenery many others. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Rushaga Haven Lodge – Budget, Four Gorilla Lodge –Super Mid-range
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Wake up early have a delicious breakfast, carry your packed lunch boxes from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas which takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are found because they like to move from one place to another looking for food. During trekking, you will be able to view other primate species including l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, different plant species, birds many others.
Once the mountain gorillas are allocated you will be given an hour to spend with them in their natural habitat, as you learn from their behaviors and habits, watch gorillas feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home after the safari.
After the incredible encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the meeting Centre where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then drive out of the park and drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival, our driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advice.
