Detailed Itinerary for 2 days Ziwa Rhino Tracking Tour
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala /Entebbe to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
You will wake up early have breakfast at your hotel, after start your journey early to access Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in time. Our safari driver –guide will pick you from your hotel or Airport at around 8am and drive you straight to the sanctuary.
Arrive to the sanctuary during lunch hours. Therefore, check in have lunch while waiting for the evening shift of tracking the unique white rhinos.
You will be first briefed about the dos and don’ts before setting a foot on the ranch for rhino tracking. You will be accompanied by the experienced rangers who knows much more about their history. Enjoy the spectacular sightseeing of them, notable birds, beautiful nature around as well as taking memorable photography.
After, return to your lodge or camping site for the dinner and overnight. At night, you will enjoy brightening skies as you will be able to see the milky way from your lodge. There is also camp fire at night.

Day 2: Shoebill Trek and Canoe Ride
On your last day of trip, you will head to Lugogo Swamp for shoebill trekking. You will ride in a canoe to view the whale – headed birds, shoebills nests in wetlands ‘’swamps’’. You will be excited seeing them feeding on lungfishes, frogs and other creatures living swamps.
The shoebill trek is best done early morning when the colorful sunrise over the lugogo swamp of Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Uganda. The swamp is rich in nature and also a home to variety of water birds.
Those wishing to do shoebill trekking and canoe riding in the sanctuary, are recommended to have overnight stay in the sanctuary, because the best time to do shoebill trekking is in the morning.
Thereafter, if time allows you can go for a guided nature walk where you will hundreds of birds, small wild animals and some primates like the black and white colobus monkeys and vervet monkeys.
Return back to your lodge for lunch and check out before driving back to Kampala or Entebbe Airport. This mark the end of your 2 days Rhino Tracking Tour.
