Volcanoes National Park is typically renowned for its mountain gorilla trekking and its connection to Dian Fossey’s gorilla research. More fact stands as one of the few places in the world where visitors can trek to observe these endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. It also stuns with beautiful scenery, including five volcanoes, rainforests, and bamboo vegetation.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali, transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival in Kigali, our driver guide will meet you to brief you about the trip. Then, transfer to Volcanoes National Park with a visit to Iby’lwacu cultural village, where you will learn about the Rwandan culture. Proceed to access the park, check in the lodge to relax, have dinner, and stay overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After having an early breakfast at the lodge, be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking dos and don’ts. After the briefing, you will be accompanied by a skilled park ranger to lead you through trekking trails to search for a gorilla family. The trek can last between 2 to 7 hours, depending on their location in their natural habitat.
On finding them, you will be given one hour to spend with the gorilla, learn how they feed, play groom them slaves as well and capture videos. Back to the main starting point, to connect to your lodge or opt to go visit the Dian Fossey Memorial. Dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Kigali City Tour/Departure
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, go on a Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and other sites, followed by departure. End of the tour.
