3 Days Karuma wildlife safari is a short safari package taking to Karuma wildlife reserve, Karuma wildlife reserve is situated in Kiryandongo district along Masindi-Gulu highway. This reserve shares boundaries with Murchison falls national park and it is a great habitat for many animals such as cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffe, elephants, Uganda kobs, topis, waterbucks, hyenas, warthogs, Oribis, hippos, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys and many more. This safari offers safari activities such as game drives and visiting Karuma falls.

Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: transfer from Kampala to Karuma wildlife reserve
On the first day of the safari you will be picked from your hotel in Kampala by your safari driver after breakfast, your safari driver will give you a short brief about the safari and embark on your drive to Karuma wildlife reserve via Masindi – Gulu highway. On your way you will have lunch in Masindi, when you get to the reserve you will check into your lodge and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.
Accommodation is got from Red chili rest camp or Karuma campsite

Day 2: game drive and visiting Karuma falls on a boat cruise
On the 2nd day of the safari you will have early morning breakfast and drive to the reserve for a game drive, game drives in this reserve are done on perfectly kept trails running through the plains of the reserve. On this experience you will spot many animals such as cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffe, elephants, Uganda kobs, topis, waterbucks, hyenas, warthogs, Oribis, hippos, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys and many birds such as shoe bills. you will drive back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will return to the reserve for a boat ride on the Albertine ride, the boat ride is a perfect experience for seeing animals, water birds such as grey crowned cranes, herons and many more. On the boat ride you also get to enjoy the spectacular and breathtaking views of Karuma falls, in the evening you will return back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: morning game drive and transfer back to Kampala
On the 3rd and last day of the safari you will wake up early and drive to reserve for an early morning game drive, this drive is a perfect session for spotting animals most especially predators and early raisers such as occasional leopards and lions. Other animals expected to be seen include giraffes, warthogs, Uganda kobs and many more. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for breakfast, checkout of the lodge and embark on your journey back to Kampala. On your way you will have en-route lunch and when you get in Kampala you will be dropped at the hotel or at Entebbe international airport or departure flight back home.
