3 Days lake bunyonyi safari package takes you to Lake bunyonyi which is one of the most amazing and scenic areas in Uganda, this beautiful lake is situated in the south western region of Uganda lying between Kisoro and Kabale districts. Lake Bunyonyi is a haven for birds and because of this the lake is refered to as “place of many birds”, this safari package offers safari activities such as swimming, community visits, boat rides and visiting numerous islands in the lake which will make your time in Uganda worth a while.

Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: transfer from Kampala to Lake Bunyonyi
On the first day of the safari you will have breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, meet your safari who will give you a short briefing about the safari then set off for southwestern Uganda heading to Lake Bunyonyi. On your way you will have a stopover at the equator landmark for beautiful pictures and buying souvenirs, you will also make another stopover in Mbarara for lunch then head to Lake Bunyonyi through Kabale. You will reach the park in the evening, check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: touring the lake/boat cruise and community visit
On the second day of the safari you will have early breakfast and head to Abaheesi and Batwa communities for a cultural visit, while in these communities you will interact with the elders, spot and learn more about local activities like farming, hunting, collecting of local herbs, building of houses using local materials and interact with the community elders through which you will learn more about the community’s history and stories. You will drive back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat cruise, boat cruise on the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi is a chance for tourists to spot various birds and visit the islands situated in the lake. Lake Bunyonyi consists of 29 islands and each island has an interesting legendary stories, islands in the lake Bunyonyi include Bushara island, Akampene island, Kahugye island, Bwama and Njuyeera(sharp’s island), Bucuranka island(Upside down island) and many more. after the boat cruise you can take a swim in the bilharzias water of the lake, in the evening you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3: transfer back to Kampala
On the 3rd and last day of the safari you will have morning break, checkout of your lodge and set off heading back to Kampala. On your way you will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch and when you arrive in Kampala in evening, once in Kampala you will be dropped off at your hotel or at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight back home.
