Other primates in Nyungwe forest national park include red colobus monkeys, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkey and many more. Detailed itinerary for the safari
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park
On the first day of the safari you will wake up early in morning, have breakfast then meet your safari driver who will belief you about the safari, checkout of your hotel and then embark on your journey to Nyungwe forest national park which is about 6 hours of drive .on your way you will make a stopover ethnographic museum situated in Huye, this museum showcases the historic and cultural aspects of Rwanda and you will also have lunch in the same location. Upon reaching Nyungwe forest national park you will enjoy beautiful scenic views of numerous hills, in the park you will drive to your lodge and relax for the evening and you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk experience
On the second day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning (as early as 5:00 am) for breakfast and then drive to the park’s headquarters at Uwinka for the briefing about chimpanzee tracking experience. In the briefing rules and regulations to be followed will be read to you, then you will go into the forests in search for chimpanzees following trails such as Uwinka trail and another at Cyamudongo section. As you look for chimpanzees you will encounter over 200 species of trees and other primates such as colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkey and many birds. After finding the chimpanzees you will be allowed to spend one hour with the chimpanzees and in this period you can take pictures and noticed chimpanzees picking fruits, leaves and taking care of their young ones. After the experience you will have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a canopy walk in the forests of Nyungwe, on the canopy walk you will walk on the metallic canopy built in the sky above the trees of Nyungwe experience. On the canopy walk you will enjoy eye’s view of the green vegetation over, birds and the scenic surrounding, after the experience you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali for drop off and departure
On the third and last day of the safari you will have breakfast, checkout of your lodge, exit the park and embark on your journey back to Kigali city. In Kigali city you will have lunch then be dropped off at your hotel or at Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
