The 4 days Bwindi double gorilla trek is an adventurous primate safari that is designed for visitors interested in trekking gorillas twice. The safari starts and ends from Kampala Uganda and will take you to Bwindi impenetrable national park which is the most visited gorilla destination located in south western Uganda. During the 4 days Bwindi double gorilla trekking safari, you will be able to visit the mountain gorillas twice in two different gorilla sectors and spend one hour with them in their environment.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Depending on your location on the first day of the 4 days Bwindi double gorilla trek, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then transfer to Bwindi national park. It’s a whole day journey and on the way you will have a stopover at the Equator where you will buy souvenirs and then continue the journey with en-route lunch. After lunch, you will proceed with great views of the terraced farmlands, beautiful landscape among others. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: First gorilla trekking in Ruhija sector Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 4 days Bwindi double gorilla trek, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle which takes about 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the mountain gorillas because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will enjoy views of other wildlife species, other primates, variety of bird species, view different plant and tree species among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, behavior, watch them feed, play, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record videos to show people back home after the safari.
After the interesting one hour with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and later meet up with your driver guide and transfer to Buhoma sector in the northern part of Bwindi impenetrable national park. Upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Second gorilla trekking and Optional Batwa cultural tour
After an early breakfast on the third day of the 4 days Bwindi double gorilla trek, you will carry your packed food and transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing trekking where after you will start trekking in the forest in search of the mountain gorillas which takes about 2 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. Once the golden monkeys are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat.
After the one hour encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and go for an optional Batwa cultural tour where you will be able to learn about their culture, lifestyle, way of living, visit their homesteads, learn about their hunting and gathering skills, enjoy their local dishes, traditional entertainments among others. After the batwa cultural tour, you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Departure to Kampala
After a relaxed breakfast on the last day of the 4 days Bwindi double gorilla trek, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kampala. On the way you will have a stopover for en-route lunch and then continue the journey to Kampala arriving in the evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of your choice.
