4 Days Ziwa and Queen Elizabeth national park : Ziwa rhino sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where we can find the rhinos. Rhinos were reintroduced in Uganda after their when extinct in Uganda and are now taken care in the Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola district. Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest wildlife national park located in the western part of Uganda in Rubirizi district near Kasese district. Queen Elizabeth national park has a massive biodiversity with landscape including bushland, savannah, wetland and lush vegetation. The park covers an area of 1,978 square kilometres and was first founded in 1952 as Kazinga national park however later after the visit of Queen Elizabeth 11; it was renamed Queen Elizabeth national park. The park inhabits about 95 mammal species including the big 4 game (Lions, Leopards, buffaloes, and Elephants), other animals including; hyenas, hippos, waterbucks, Oribi to mention a few and over 600 bird species. Queen Elizabeth national park is surrounded by 2 lakes including Lake Albert and Lake Edward which support water activities like boat cruises, and fishing activities.

Day 1: Pick-up and Transfer to Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking

Depending on your location in Kampala, meet with your safari guide to transfer to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, the only place where you find the rhinos in Uganda. It’s a 3 hours’ drive from Kampala.

Upon arrival at the sanctuary, connect for your rhino trekking experience. Meet your ranger guides for briefing then drive to the starting point where you will start your trekking in search of the rhinos. You will be able to spot different rhinos, coming up close to them. Spend time in their presence before you connect to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Amuka Safari lodge for mid-range/Ziwa Guesthouse for budget

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park (6-7 hours’ drive)

Enjoy morning breakfast and then embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park with en-route stop in Fort portal for lunch. Upon arrival in Queen Elizabeth national park in the afternoon, connect to check-in at your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Pumba safari lodge/Simba safari lodge for budget/Elephant Plains lodge for mid-range

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise – transfer to Ishasha sector

You will wake up early, have breakfast and embank for morning game drive in the Kasenyi area to encounter animals like the Elephants, Buffaloes, waterbucks, Kobs, Lions, leopards on a lucky day. After the game drive, have your lunch then connect for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will get an opportunity to see a number of bird species, elephants and buffalos, hippos and crocodiles at the lake shores.

After the boat cruise, drive to Ishasha sector for an evening game drive for chances of seeing the seeing the tree climbing lions before you connect to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay Enjojo safari lodge for budget option

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast at the lodge, check-out and transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe with en-route lunch. Upon arrival, you will either be dropped off at Entebbe airport or at your own booked hotel in either Entebbe or Kampala. End of tour.
