Detailed itinerary for the safari
Day 1: Arrival and city tour experience
On the first day of the safari you will picked from the airport upon your arrival by your safari guide/our company’s representative, from the airport you will transfer to kigali city for a city tour depending on the time of your arrival. On the city tour you will visit sites like presidential museum, Kigali genocide memorial site and Kimironko market which will an amazing experience. In the evening you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park
On the second day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your journey to nyungwe forest national park which is a drive of 5-6 hours. On your way you will make en-route stopovers in Butare and Haye for lunch, on your way you will visit Bisesero genocide memorial which commemorates Rwandese who died during the genocide. When you get into the park you will check into your lodge, rest and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: canopy walk and transfer to Gisenyi
On the third day of the safari you will wake up for morning breakfast and transfer to Uwika for a canopy walk, the canopy walk is takes about 2 hours and it is a breathtaking experience offering you scenic sights of the surrounding. After the canopy walk you will exit the park and embark on your journey to Gisenyi which is a drive approximately 5 – 6 hours, you will arrive in Gisenyi in late afternoon and cross to Goma, check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: mount Nyiragongo hike
On the fourth day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast and drive to kibati patrol post which is in a distance of approximately 15 kilometers, at kibati patrol post you will be briefed about the hiking, hire a porter and from the post together with your hiking gears you will start your hiking on mount Nyiragongo. Hiking to the summit of mount Nyiragongo is a full day hike, as you hike on the you enjoy amazing views and you are to spend the night on the top of the volcano with sights of breathtaking lave in the active volcano. You are to spend the night on top of the volcano at summit shelter.
Day 5: descend mount Nyiragongo and transfer back to Kigali
On the fifth and last day of the safari you will descend the volcano after breakfast heading down to Kibati, from kibati patrol post together with your safari driver/guide you will transfer to Goma for a transfer back to Rwanda on a drive of 3-4 hours. When you reach Kigali you will be dropped off to your hotel in Kigali or be transferred to Kigali international airport for a transfer which marks the end of your amazing safari
