Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: transfer from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the 1st day of the safari you will be picked from your lodge after morning breakfast by your safari a representative of Focus East Africa Tours, your driver will belief you about the safari and start on your drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On this journey of 9-10 hours you will have a stopover at the equator land mark for memorable photos, have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch then proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On your way you will have an opportunity of having scenic views of the Kigezi rolling hills in Kisoro, you will arrive in Bwindi impenetrable national park in the late afternoon, check into your lodge and stay overnight.

Day 2: mountain gorilla habituation experience
On the 2nd day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and drive to the park’s headquarters for briefing, the head ranger will read you the do and don’ts of the habituation experience and how to behave while in presence of the mountain gorillas. After the briefing you will start your hike into the forests of Bwindi in search for mountain gorillas, as you trek through the forests you will spot various flowering plants, birds and other primates living in the forests. Mountain habituation experience offers you 4 hours with the mountain gorillas, in these hours you get involved in taking care of the mountain gorillas and training them with guidance of researchers, feeding them and you can take pictures as long as your flashlight is off. Then you will return back to your lodge and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: transfer to kibale national park
On the 3rd day of the safari you will have morning breakfast, checkout of the lodge and with your safari driver you will embark on your drive to Kibale national park which is a drive of 6-7 hours. You will have en-route lunch and arrive in kibale national park in late afternoon for dinner after check-in at your lodge and stay overnight.

Day 4: chimpanzee tracking experience
On the 4th day of the safari you will have early morning breakfast, be picked up by your driver and head to the forests of kibale national park for chimpanzee tracking experience. In the park you will go to the park’s headquarters for briefing about the tracking experience, rules and regulations to be followed on the safari will be read to you and then trek into the forests in search for chimpanzees. Kibale forests are a home to 10 primates apart from chimpanzees which are spotted as you trek in the forests, these primates include olive baboons, mangabeys, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys and many more.
You are to spend 1 hour in the presence of chimpanzees observing their behavior, take pictures and spot them take care of their young ones, play on tree branches and many more. you will trek back to the headquarters then drive back to your lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you can decided to go for an optional culture encounter in the neighboring local community or have an evening of rest at your lodge. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: transfer back to Kampala
On the 5th day of the safari you will have early in the morning for breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your drive back to Kampala which is a drive of about 5-6 hours. Upon arrival in Kampala you will have lunch and then be dropped off either the hotel or at Entebbe international airport depending on your departure flight.
