Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Goma city for overnight
Arrival in Kigali and drive to Goma city: As soon as you land at Kigali international airport on day 1 of 5 days the Great Ape Safari (Chimpanzee and Gorilla trekking), our company representative will be waiting to receive into Rwanda the land of a thousand hills, take you on a briefing then be driven to a hotel to freshen up and have lunch. After lunch, embark on a drive to Goma city situated in Democratic Republic of Congo. You will first obtain the gorilla trekking permits and chimpanzee trekking permit before proceeding to your lodge for check in, dinner and overnight rest. Keep in mind that the moment you cross over from Rwanda to Congo, the Rwanda visa expires thus there is a need to apply for another visa that will be obtaining on your way back from Congo Rwanda.

Day 2: First Gorilla trekking safari in Virunga national park
1st gorilla trekking safari in Virunga national park: After enjoying an early breakfast on day 2 of 5 days the Great Ape Safari (Chimpanzee and Gorilla trekking), pack enough drinking water, snacks and wear an appropriate gorilla trekking gears ready to meet your driver for a transfer to the briefing grounds in Bukima where you will start your day will a briefing before embarking on the real walk to search for the habituated endangered mountain gorillas that thrill in the wilderness of Virunga national park. Day 3: Second Gorilla trekking safari in Virunga national park

Ensure that you request for a different gorilla family and in case you feel like trekking a similar family still it’s okay to inform your rangers in time such that you trek the gorilla family that makes you comfortable.
