Detailed itinerary for the safari

Day 1: transfer from Kampala to kibale national park
On the first day of the safari you will picked from your hotel either in Entebbe or Kampala after early morning breakfast, your safari driver will brief you about the safari then embark on your journey to kibale national park which is a drive of approximately 4-5 hours. Kibale national park is a known home for primates hosting a huge population of chimpanzees in Uganda and East Africa, apart from chimpanzees the forested park also hosts other primates such as olive baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, red tailed monkey, L’Hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, blue monkeys, grey checked mangabeys, Uganda red colobus, demidoff galago, pottos, patas monkey and Uganda mangabey. You are to arrive in kibale national park in afternoon for lunch, you will check into your lodge, have lunch and the go for an optional nature walk in the forests of kibale. Or you can chose to rest for the afternoon, in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: chimpanzee tracking and visiting the local community
On the second day of your safari you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast then drive to the park for chimpanzee tracking experience, when you arrive in the park you will go to the briefing spot where you will be briefed about the activity and then you will head into the forests of kibale and start tracking for chimpanzees. As you track for chimpanzees you will see many beautiful species of plants, birds, olive baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, red tailed monkey, L’Hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, blue monkeys, grey checked mangabeys, Uganda red colobus, demidoff galago, pottos, patas monkey and Uganda mangabey. Upon find chimpanzee you will be allowed to spend only one hour with while watching them play on tree branches, collecting fruits, feeding young ones and many more. In the one hour one you are allowed to take pictures with chimpanzees with the flash of your camera off, the experience takes a proximately 2-3 hours or more. From the experience you will get back to the headquarters, drive back to your lodge and wait for lunch then you will drive to the bigodi swamp sanctuary for a nature walk and bird watching which takes approximately 2-3 hours. In bigodi swamp you will see many birds such as blue turacco, flycatchers, papyrus gonolek, hornbills, wax bills, weavers, cuckoos and many more. After the experience you will drive back to your lodge and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
On the third day f the safari you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast, checkout of lodge and embark on the your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which is a drive of approximately 3-4 hours of drive. Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest haven for wildlife in Uganda with many scenic features such as the kazinga channel a natural channel connecting Lake Edward to Lake George, Mweya peninsula and many more. Queen Elizabeth national park is a home to animals like tree climbing lions which live in the ishasha sector, Uganda kob, warthog, waterbucks, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos and many more. When you get into the park you check into your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon you go for an afternoon game drive in the plains of the park, on the game drive you will see many animals and in the evening you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: game drive and launch cruise experience
On the fourth day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and then drive to the park for a morning game drive, on the drive you will enjoy sights of many animals such as Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Waterbuck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, Warthogs and you will participate in lion tracking experience in ishasha sector on which you will track for tree climbing lions. After the experience you will drive back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will return to the park for an afternoon boat cruise on kazinga channel, on the boat cruise you will enjoy the cruise on the calm waters of the channel and sights of many animals such as herds of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and many more. You also get to see many birds such as great white and pin – backed pelicans, African shoe bill, yellow billed stock, saddle bill stock, jacana, black crake, dartersm saddle bill stock, great and long tailed cormorants and many more. After the boat ride you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: transfer back to Kampala for departure
On the fifth and last day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and go to the park for an early morning game drive, on the drive you will see may animals and birds. After the experience you will exit the park and embark on your journey back to Kampala for a drop off, while in Kampala you will have lunch at the hotel and then be dropped off either at Entebbe international airport for your flight back home or be dropped off at the hotel either in Kampala or Entebbe
