Detailed itinerary for the safari
Day 1: arrival in Rwanda and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the first day of the safari you will be picked from Kigali international airport upon your arrival in Kigali the capital city of Rwanda, depending on the time of your arrival you can have a short city in Kigali town visiting places like Kigali genocide memorial centre, king’s palace and many more. Then you will embark on your drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park located in the southern region of Uganda, Bwindi impenetrable national park is one of the fascinating national parks in east Africa hosting the largest population of mountain gorillas in the whole world. Bwindi impenetrable national park is an entirely forested national park and upon your arrival you will check into your lodge, have dinner in the evening and stay overnight.

Day 2: mountain gorilla trekking experience
On the second day the safari you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast and together with your packed lunch you will to the park’s headquarters for briefing about the mountain gorilla trekking experience, at the headquarters rules and regulations about mountain gorilla trekking will be read to you, you will hire a porter and be assigned which group to tour. Then you will enter into the forests of Bwindi in search for mountain gorilla, find the gorillas takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on the where they spent the night on the previous day. Upon finding the mountain gorilla you are allowed to spend one hour with them and in this hour you will be amazed by the beautiful nature of the gorillas, watching female gorillas feeding their young ones and take beautiful memorable pictures. After the experience you will descend the forest back to the headquarters where you will be rewarded by a gorilla trekking certificate, at the headquarter you can either head back to your lodge and rest or participate in nature walks, in the evening you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight,
Day 3: transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and afternoon game drive
On the third day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. On your way to queen Elizabeth you will pass through the ishasha sector of the park and in the park you will check into your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a game drive. Queen Elizabeth national park is a haven for wildlife such as tree climbing lions, herds of elephants, Nile crocodiles, buffaloes, antelopes and many more. In the afternoon game drive you will encounter many animals living in the short savannah grassland of the park, after the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: morning game drive and boat cruise on kazinga channel
On the fourth day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning and drive to the park for an early morning game drive, morning game drive is a perfect time for enjoying sights of many animals as they stay in one place before dispersing and hiding because of sunlight. As you drive in the kasenyi plains of the park you will see many animals such as herds of elephants, antelopes, buffaloes, leopards and many birds such as egrets, crested crane, herons and many more. After the experience you will drive back to your lodge for late breakfast then rest as you wait for lunch, after lunch you will drive to kazinga channel for an afternoon boat cruise. Boat cruise on kazinga channel is an amazing water experience, enjoying the sunset and sights of many bird species living in the waters of the channel. After the boat cruise you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 5: transfer back to Kigali for departure
On the fifth day of the safari you will wake up in the morning for morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and drive to the park for a short early morning game drive on which you will see many animals and after the experience you exit the park and embark on your journey back to Kigali. Upon your arrival in Kigali you will have lunch and then either be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali or at Kigali international airport for departure thus marking the end of your safari.
