5 Days Queen Elizabeth national park Safari : Visitors can stay in Queen Elizabeth national park for up to 5 Days exploring the park. Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest wildlife national park located in the western part of Uganda in Rubirizi district near Kasese district. Queen Elizabeth national park has a massive biodiversity with landscape including bushland, savannah, wetland and lush vegetation. The park covers an area of 1,978 square kilometres and was first founded in 1952 as Kazinga national park however later after the visit of Queen Elizabeth 11; it was renamed Queen Elizabeth national park. The park inhabits about 95 mammal species including the big 4 game (Lions, Leopards, buffaloes, and Elephants), other animals including; hyenas, hippos, waterbucks, Oribi to mention a few and over 600 bird species. Queen Elizabeth national park is surrounded by 2 lakes including Lake Albert and Lake Edward which support water activities like boat cruises, and fishing activities.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will be met by your safari guide in the morning at 8 am to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. It’s about 7-8 hours’ drive with an en-route lunch break in Fort portal town. Proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park in the southern part of the park that is the Ishasha sector. Connect to your reserved lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight stay at Enjojo lodge/Topi lodge for budget option/Ishasha Jungle Lodge or mid-range/ Ishasha Wilderness Camp for luxury option
Day 2: Game drive in Ishasha sector
Have breakfast and embark for an early morning game drive in the Ishasha sector – home of the tree climbing lions. Explore this side of the park to find the tree climbing lions and other animals like the leopards, hyenas, the different Antelope species to mention but a few if available. Have your lunch at the lodge, later in the evening drive to the other side of the park close to the Kasenyi sector. Dinner and night stay at Elephant Hub Lodge/Parkview Safari lodge for mid-range – Pumba Safari Cottages/Simba Safari lodge for budget – Elephant Plains lodge/Mweya Safari lodge for luxury
Day 3: Morning game drive and boat cruise
After early morning breakfast, connect for another game drive to find some of the missed animals found in the park in the Kasenyi area including; the Uganda Kobs, Waterbucks, Warthogs, Elephants, and buffaloes. Lions and leopards can also be spotted in the Kasenyi area.
Return for lunch at the lodge then later afternoon connect for Kazinga channel boat cruise. The boat cruise will reward you will views of Virunga Mountains and both land and water animals like Hippos, Elephants, Crocodiles, Buffaloes, and different bird species. Return to the lodge and be entertained by the community. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.
Day 4: Chimpanzee/primate tracking Kyambura gorge
After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura forest with your tracking gears. The walk in the forest in search of the chimpanzees generally takes around 2‐5 hours while spotting other primates too like the Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys. On finding the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend an hour with the chimpanzees before you return to your lodge. Return fresh and relax for the day.
Optional afternoon activity; visit the Katwe salt mine area or visit the beautiful crater lakes found around the park. Dinner and spend another night at the lodge as above
Day 5: Return to Entebbe
After breakfast, embark on your journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch in Mbarara town and stop at the Equator. Upon arrival in Kampala, continue to Entebbebefore your departure. Thereafter, proceed to Entebbe and b. End of 5 Days Queen Elizabeth Uganda Safari
