Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at Hotel in Entebbe and Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport on the first day of your 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safari, you will be picked up by the hotel driver representative, drive you to your booked hotel. Arrive and check into the hotel, rest as you get ready for your next day journey to Bwindi – home to half the remaining mountain gorillas in the wild. Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will have an excellent breakfast at the hotel, our driver guide will pick you up at the hotel to start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park estimated 8 to 9 hours’ drive inclusive with a stopover at the equator. You will be briefed by the guide about the safari. Then after proceed a drive to Mbarara with a stopover for lunch en route. Continue to drive on the way you will enjoy great views of rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and beautiful landscapes among others. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Haven Lodge – Mid-range
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast on the third day of the 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safari, you will carry a packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing about the do’s and don’ts.
After the briefing, you will head for gorilla trekking in the jungle which takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. During trekking, you will enjoy amazing views of other primates, animals, plants, and bird species among others, and on finding the gorillas you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their amazing behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities, take photos and record the moments for your future remembrance.
After a great encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide to drive you back to the lodge, for relaxation, dinner, and overnight as above.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
On the fourth day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to head to Kibale National Park. Along the way, you will have an en-route lunch and enjoy spectacular views of the terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads, crater lakes, and tea plantations among others. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge and thereafter in the evening go for guided nature work at Bigondi Wetland the best place for birding and primate viewing. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge – Mid-range, Chimpundu Lodge – Luxury
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Return back to Entebbe
After an early breakfast on the last day of the 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safari, you will be served with packed lunch and check out of the lodge, meet up with your driver guide to transfer you to the Kanyachu Visitors Centre for chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest which takes about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on the movements of the Chimpanzees.
Once the chimpanzees have been found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat thus giving you a great opportunity to learn more about their lifestyle, and behaviors, watch them feed, play in trees, take photos, and record videos with a flashless camera.
After the one-hour encounter with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and then, transfer you back to Entebbe International Airport for your flight departure or to any advised place.
