Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:  Transfer to Kibale National Park 

After early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari driver-guide to start your trip with a transfer to Kibale Forest National Park– the best safari destination in Africa for a chimpanzee trekking experience. You will arrive in Fort Portal late afternoon, and have your lunch before you continue to your booked accommodation where you will refresh, relax, have dinner and overnight stay at Isunga Lodge –Budget, Chimpanzee Forest Lodge – Mid-range

 Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking – Bigodi nature walk

After your breakfast, connect to the park headquarters with your trekking gear and water. You will meet with other trekkers and gather for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking rules and regulations. Thereafter, only a group of 12 people and ranger guides/researchers, set off for Chimpanzee tracking. The search may take 2-5 hours depending on their location. The chimpanzees in Kibale are quite easy to locate and on finding them – you will be given an hour to spend with them.

After lunch, drive to Bigodi wetland for a walking safari experience of primates and bird species. It takes about 2-3 hours walking in a wetland and if you’re a birder expect to view various bird species. You will view other primates like the Colobus monkeys, Red vervet monkeys and many more. After, drive back to your booked lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Top of the World and Fort Portal city tour

After breakfast, meet your safari guide to go for the top-of-the-world hike which takes you through the villages, and tea plantations and offers you spectacular views of the mountains, crater lakes beautiful scenery many more.

After the top of the world hike, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch where after you will check out and transfer to Fort Portal town. Upon arrival visit Amabere Ganyamwiri caves and waterfalls and enjoy walking through the caves filled with breast-like rocks with dripping milk-like liquid. The falls at the caves are refreshing. Thereafter, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Fort Motel.

Day 4: Transfer to Semuliki national park-visit hot springs

After breakfast, you will travel to Semiliki National Park a journey which takes about 2-3 hours’ drive from Fort Portal town. Upon arrival, you will visit Sempaya hot springs which are the main attractions of Semiliki National Park. These hot springs are the largest in Uganda, divided into female and male however they both have a geyser that shoots up from 8 meters’ holes with a high temperature of up to 100 degrees Celsius. The strength and hotness of the springs are gorgeous as you can experience boiling eggs in a few minutes and ready to eat. After the hot springs visit, you will transfer back to Fort Portal with en-route lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 5: Departure to Kampala

On the last day of the safari, you will have a perfect breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kampala. On the way, you will have en-route lunch and then continue to drive to Kampala. Arrive early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Banana Village Eco Retreat near Entebbe.
