5 Days Uganda Primates Safari from Kigali is a trip starting from Kigali and then continuing to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park for a gorilla trekking experience and a nature walking adventure followed by a visit to Queen Elizabeth national park for chimpanzee trekking and a boat cruise on Kazinga channel as seen in the itinerary below;

Safari highlights of the 5 Days Uganda Primates Safari

Day 1; Arrival and drive to Kigali

Arrival and drive to Kigali: You will be picked up from the airport in Kigali by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about your 5 Days Uganda Primates Safari. After your briefing, you will be driven to your hotel for check-in as well as to have your lunch.
After lunch, you will engage in a city tour around the beautiful capital of Kigali as you enjoy views of the distant hills that Rwanda is known for having hence its name “land of a thousand hills”. During your city tour, you will visit the genocide memorial sites in Kigali and also the Kimironko market and to also interact with the local community. After this experience, you will be driven back to your hotel for your dinner and overnight.

Day 2; Drive to Bwindi national park and Nature walk

Drive to Bwindi: After breakfast at your hotel in Kigali on the 2nd day of your 5 Days Uganda Primates Safari, you will check out of the hotel and continue your journey to the Katuna border for your crossing to Uganda. You will continue your journey while enjoying more scenic views on your way to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
Nature walk: You will check-in at your lodge upon arrival in the national park. After enjoying your lunch at the lodge, you will later have an evening nature walk to get a close interaction with your surroundings in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will return to your lodge after your nature walk and prepare to have your dinner and to spend the night at your lodge.

Day 3; Gorilla trekking and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park

Gorilla trekking: You will have breakfast early in the morning at your lodge in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park as you prepare for your gorilla trekking activity. Your guide will drive you to the park headquarters for your briefing about the procedures and rules of the gorilla trekking activity. After being allocated ranger guides and divided into groups, you will trek into Bwindi forest in search of the gorillas which you will spend with about 1 hour. During your gorilla trek, you will also see other primate species in the forest such as black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys as well as a variety of bird and butterfly species.
drive to Queen Elizabeth: You will return to the briefing point after your trek and your guide will drive you to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will check in at your lodge as you prepare to have dinner and overnight.

Day 4; Chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu forest and boat cruise

Chimpanzee trekking: On the 4th day of your 5 Days Uganda Primates Safari, you will have breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for your chimpanzee trekking activity in Kalinzu forest. You will be briefed before you engage in the activity. During your chimpanzee trekking activity, you will watch as the chimps swing around in branches and you will also see other primates and also various bird species.
boat cruise: You will return to your lodge to have lunch after the chimpanzee trekking activity. You will have an evening boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where lakes George and Lake Edward meet. During your boat cruise, you will see wildlife species such as hippos and buffalos, as well as different bird species along the shores of the lake such as king fishers, fish eagles, hammerkops and many others. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge as you enjoy the evening sunset and you will have dinner and spend the night at your lodge.

Day 5; Drive to Entebbe

Drive to Entebbe: Breakfast will be served at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park before you check out of the lodge. You will have a morning game drive around the national park as you look out for wildlife species grazing and hunting in the savannah plains of the national park such as buffalos, lions, zebras, hyenas, warthogs, antelopes, hippos and different bird species which are active during the morning. You will continue your journey to Entebbe with a stop in Mbarara where you will have lunch. After your lunch, your guide will drive you to Entebbe where you will be dropped off at a location of your preference which will mark the end of your safari.
