Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and check-in at the hotel
- Arrival and Check-in: You will be met by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about the details of your safari. After briefing, you will be driven to your hotel in Entebbe where you will check-in. You will have dinner and overnight at 2 friend’s hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
- Transfer to Lake Mburo: You will have early breakfast on the second day of your safari and proceed to Lake Mburo national park. you will have a stopover at the equator for photography moments and for lunch as well as visiting the craft shops around the equator. You will proceed to Lake Mburo national park where you will have an enroute game drive as you continue to your lodge for check-in.
- Boat Cruise Safari: You will also have a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will see a variety of bird species as well as wildlife species grazing near the shores of the lake. Dinner and overnight at
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
- Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi: Wake up for an early breakfast at your lodge after which you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi which is the second largest lake in Africa. This lake is also known for having a number of islands which include the punishment island which is known for being an island where unmarried pregnant girls were punished among the local community.
- Lake Bunyonyi Experience: You will enjoy a variety of relaxing activities during your visit to Lake Bunyonyi such as swimming, a canoe ride during which you will enjoy seeing beautiful sights such as hills with terraces. You will have dinner and overnight at
Day 4: Drive to Bwindi and Cultural experience
- Drive to Bwindi: You will have breakfast at your lodge and then proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park which is known for its gorillas.
- Cultural experience: You will also have a cultural experience where you will interact with the batwa who have a unique culture and are known for being the inhabitants of the Bwindi forest. The batwa are known to depend on the forest for their survival as well as for herbs. After this experience, you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight at
Day 5: Gorilla trekking
- Gorilla trekking: After breakfast at your lodge, you will be driven to the Bwindi headquarters where you will be briefed about gorilla trekking. You will proceed into the impenetrable forest as you search for gorillas in their natural habitat. During your gorilla trekking experience, you will see the gorillas as well as a variety of primates in the forest such as black and white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, L’hoest monkeys among others. A variety of bird species can also be seen during gorilla trekking. After gorilla trekking, you will be met by your guide who will drive you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at your preferred lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali
- Transfer to Kigali: You will have breakfast and then check out of the lodge. After checking out of the lodge, you will proceed to the Cyanika border where you will cross to Rwanda and proceed to Kigali where you will have an optional city tour during which you will see attractions such as the Kimironko market and Kigali genocide memorial. After this experience, you will be dropped off at your preferred location which will mark the end of your trip.
