Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to Kibale national park

Transfer to Kibale National Park: You will be met by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about your safari. After the briefing, you will proceed to Kibale national park which is known as the primate capital and you will enjoy beautiful views of landscapes. You will have a stopover in Fort portal for lunch and to relax. After lunch, you will continue your journey to “amabere ganyinamwiru” caves which is a cave that has stalagmites and is known for its traditional history as told in a story among the natives who live in the surrounding area. After this experience, you will proceed to Kibale national park for dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee forest guest house.

Day 2: Chimpanzee habituation

Chimpanzee habituation: After breakfast at your lodge, you will proceed for a chimpanzee habituation experience. During the chimpanzee habituation experience, you will spend time with the chimpanzees as they get used to the presence of humans in their natural habitat. You will also see different primate species such as black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red tailed monkeys as well as many bird species. You will return to your lodge after chimpanzee habituation for dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee forest guest house.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Chimpanzee trekking: You will wake up for an early breakfast as you prepare for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale national park. On arrival at the park headquarters, you will be briefed about chimpanzee tracking before you head out into the forest in search of the chimpanzees. You will also see other primate species such as black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys and many others as well as a variety of bird and butterfly species.
Transfer to Queen: After this experience, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight at Pumba cottages.

Day 4; Game drive and boat cruise

Morning Game drive: You will wake up for an early breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, you will move with your packed lunches as you go for your early morning game drive. During the game drive, you will drive through Queen Elizabeth national park where you will see the tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector.
Boat Cruise Experience: After your game drive, you will return to your lodge to relax as you prepare for your evening boat cruise. You will be driven to the point where you will start your relaxing boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. During the boat cruise, you will see different bird species along the water shores such as cormorants, kingfisher, saddle bills, yellow billed storks, hammerkops, herons, martial eagles, African skimmer, white malachite and many other species. You will also enjoy the sunset in the wild as you watch the hippos swimming in the water and Nile crocodiles lying by the shores as well as buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, leopards, warthogs, forest hogs, reedbucks, duikers grazing in the nearby plains. after this experience, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Pumba cottages.

Day 5; Transfer to Bwindi national park

Transfer to Bwindi: Wake up for breakfast, you will have an enroute game drive as you proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park through ishasha sector which is known for its tree-climbing lions which can be seen as you drive through the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth national park. You will be driven to your lodge where you will check-in and have lunch.
Batwa Community Tour: Later in the day, you will have a community visit where you will get to interact with the batwa community who are known for being forest dwellers. The batwa have a unique culture and are known for their dependence on the forest for their survival. After this experience, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Buhoma haven lodge.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking

Gorilla trekking: You will wake up for an early breakfast at your lodge and proceed to drive to the Bwindi national park headquarters with your packed lunches. On arrival at the park headquarters, you will be met by the park rangers who will welcome you and brief you about the gorilla trekking activity and the rules and regulations to follow. After briefing, you will be divided in groups of 8 people and each group will be allocated a ranger guide and a gorilla family to trek and spend one hour with that gorilla group. After the briefing, you will proceed to look for the gorillas in their natural habitat in the impenetrable Bwindi forest. During the gorilla trekking, you will see a variety of birds and other primate species such as blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, grey checked mangabeys, l’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys. You will also see other wildlife species such as forest elephants, the giant forest hog, jackals, the African civet. You will proceed to trek back to the meeting point where you started the gorilla trekking experience where you will be met by your guide who will drive you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Buhoma haven lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Kigali

Transfer to Kigali: Wake up for an early breakfast and later check out of your lodge on the last day of your trip. After checking out of the lodge, you will proceed to drive to Kigali where you will have a brief city tour. During the city tour, you will visit Kimironko market and the genocide memorial sites. After this experience, your guide will drop you off at your preferred location in Kigali which marks the end of your trip.
