Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe airport on the first day of the safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then set off the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park in southwestern Uganda region. The journey takes about 8 hours’ drive and on the way you will have a stopover at the Equator to buy souvenirs, take memorable picture and another stopover for lunch in Mbarara. After lunch you will continue the journey with spectacular views of farmlands, rolling hills, traditional homesteads many more. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma haven lodge-midrange or Buhoma Community Rest camp-budget

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

After an early breakfast on the second day of the safari, you will carry your packed lunch boxes and meet up with your driver guide to drive to park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle which may last 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from place to place looking of food. During trekking expect to view other primate species, view variety of forest birds, different plant species among others. Once the mountain gorillas are located you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch them carry out their daily activities such as; feeding, breastfeeding, grooming young ones, playing, observe their behaviors, habits, take photos and record the breathtaking moments.

After the one-hour an incredible experience with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast on the third day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to drive the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park with a stopover in Ishasha sector where you will be able to view the tree climbing lions which will be lying up in acacia/ fig tree branches if you are lucky. After the game drive you will have en-route lunch and then continue a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Queen Elizabeth bush lodge-budget/ Elephant hab lodge-midrange

 Day 4: Morning game drive/optional lion tracking and afternoon boat cruise

On the fourth day of the safari, you will wake up enjoy an early breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for an adventurous game drive in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive you will be able to view animals such as elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, warthogs, predators like lions, leopards, variety of bird species among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for an impressive boat cruise on Kazinga channel a water channel that joins Lake George and Lake Edward. During the scheduled boat cruise which begins at 2:00pm, you will be able to enjoy thrilling views of the beautiful scenery, landscape, view animals such as elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, waterbucks at a close range drinking water along the banks, view large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, aquatic bird species many more. After the boat cruise which takes about 2 hours, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 5: Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast on the fifth day of the safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a short morning game drive in Kasenyi plains where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed the previous day. After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, followed by check out of the lodge and start the journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge, check-in for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee forest lodge-midrange or Kibale forest lodge-budget

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu visitors Centre for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the forest in search of the habituated chimpanzee family. During the trekking expect to see other primate species, different bird species, tree species and others. Once the chimpanzees under habituation are located you will be given one hour to spend with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their behaviors, habits, watch them carry out their daily activities, take photos and record the moments to show people back home after the safari.

Bigodi Swamp Walk

After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver /guide and return to the lodge for lunch where after you will go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp area and look out for different primate species and bird species as the swamp has various bird species. Therefore, a good location for birders. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 7: Departure to Kampala

After a warmly breakfast on the last day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive back to Kampala. On the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy gainful views of beautiful scenery, tea and banana plantations, local villages, farmlands among others. Upon arrival in Kampala your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any advised place.
