Birding experience in this reserve is an opportunity for birders to spot various bird species such as bare faced go away bird, northern carmine bee-eater, yellow billed oxpeckers, gray heron, gray crowned cranes, black headed weavers, pied kingfishers, grey parrot, African pitta, black bee- eater, western nicator, hawk eagle, crowned eagle, little green sunbird, grey headed sunbird, red chested owlet, little grey parrot and many more. Kabwoya wildlife reserve is situated in a distance of 240 kilometers from Kampala, 150 kilometers from Murchison falls national park and 200 kilometers from Kibale forest national park. This reserve is much accessed from various points, from Kampala Kabwoya wildlife reserve is accessed using Busunju – Kiboga route which is a drive of 4 hours and from Kibale forest national park it is accessed using Kagadi-Hoima route which is a drive of approximately 5-6 hours.
