Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and drive to Kampala
- Arrival and drive to Kampala: You will be met at the airport or at your current location by your guide and you will have a briefing of your safari. You will proceed to Kampala after your briefing and you will engage in a tour around Kampala city where you will visit the busy Nakasero market filled with different types of food grown in Uganda. You will also visit the Old Kampala mosque which has amazing architectural structures and is among the oldest mosques in Uganda. After your brief tour of the city, you will continue your drive to your hotel where you will check-in and enjoy your lunch and the rest of the evening as you prepare for a visit to Ndere cultural center to see the beauty of Uganda’s diverse culture and also experience the amazing hospitality of Uganda as you enjoy watching cultural dance performances and listening to traditional music. You will be driven back to your hotel for your dinner and to spend the night at Naguru skyz hotel.
Day 2: City tour and drive to Lake Mburo national park
- City tour and drive to Lake Mburo national park: After breakfast is served at your hotel, you will enjoy your breakfast and then check out of the hotel. You will have another experience of driving around Kampala city and then you will proceed to Lake Mburo national park. You will have a stopover at the equator to engage in a variety of activities such as photography, watching different experiments at the equator like the water experiment, visiting craft and souvenir shops to see the local art and craftwork as well as to interact with the local community. You will have your lunch at the equator before continuing your journey to Lake Mburo national park for check-in at your lodge. You will have a nature walk around the national park to experience the wilderness as you watch the beautiful scenery around you and then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Rwonyo rest camp.
Day 3: horse riding and night game drive
- horse riding: You will have breakfast at your lodge in Lake Mburo national park on the 3rd day of your safari as you prepare for your horse riding activity. You will explore the national park on horseback as you view the beautiful scenery and search for the different wildlife species as they roam and graze in the savannah of the national park such as zebras, warthogs, buffalos, elands, topis, antelopes as well as different bird species.
- Night game drive: After your horse riding excursion, you will return to your lodge for lunch and to relax. Later in the day, you will have a night game drive to see the different nocturnal wildlife species which live in the national park in the company of armed rangers as you get to know more about the wildlife species. You will return to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night at Rwonyo rest camp.
Day 4; morning game drive and nature walk
- Morning game drive: On the fourth day of your safari, you will be served with breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for your morning game drive to see the various wildlife species which are very active during the morning hours of the day. You will also visit Lake Mburo which is one of the attractions in Lake Mburo national park and you will see various bird species near the shores of the lake as well as wildlife species such as antelopes, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, hippos, Nile crocodiles among others.
- Nature walk: After your morning game drive, you will return to your lodge and have lunch and to relax. You will have a nature walk to experience more of the national park and to see other attractions around the national park and its surroundings after which you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Rwonyo rest camp.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national Park
- Transfer to Queen Elizabeth: You will have breakfast served at your lodge and then check out of the lodge. You will have an en-route game drive in Lake Mburo national park as you proceed for your transfer to another adventurous national park in Uganda which is Queen Elizabeth national park. You will check-in at your lodge upon your arrival in Queen Elizabeth national park and have your lunch and also relax. You will also visit the salt pans where the local community mines salt for a living. After visiting the salt mines, you will return to your lodge for your dinner and to spend the night at Pumba safari cottages.
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and Evening game drive
- Chimpanzee trekking: Breakfast will be served at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park early morning on yet another day of exploring the wilderness of the national park. You will proceed to Kalinzu forest for your first activity of the day which is chimpanzee trekking. You will be briefed about your chimpanzee trekking activity before proceeding into the forest. During your chimpanzee trekking activity, you will see a variety of primate species as well in the forest such as black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red tailed monkeys as well as a variety of bird species.
- Evening game drive: You will return to your lodge after your chimpanzee trekking activity to enjoy your lunch. After lunch, you will relax at your lodge and later in the evening, you will have another game drive as you see more wildlife species such as buffalos, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, reedbucks, duikers among others. You will return to your lodge after your evening game drive for dinner and overnight at Pumba safari cottages.
Day 7; morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
- morning game drive: You will have breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for your morning game drive during which you will explore Queen Elizabeth national park and see more wildlife species that are very active at this time of day such as the tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector. During your morning game drive, you will also see more wildlife species such as waterbucks, duikers, antelopes, buffalos, leopards among others. You will return to your lodge for lunch and have some rest and to relax.
- afternoon boat cruise: You will have an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where Lake Albert and Lake George meet. You will see wildlife species grazing in the distance near the lake shores such as buffalos, elephants among others as well as hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water swimming near your boat. Different bird species can also be seen along the shores of the Kazinga channel such as hammerkops, cormorants, king fishers, fish eagles, herons among others. You will return to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night as the day before at Pumba safari cottages.
Day 8: Departure
- Departure: You will have breakfast and then check out of your lodge on the last day of your safari. You will have an en-route game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park as you continue your journey back to Entebbe. You will have a stop in Mbarara for lunch and to visit the Igongo cultural center to experience the Ankole culture. During your visit to the cultural center, you will engage in a variety of activities such as seeing local arts and crafts, learning how to prepare different dairy products such as ghee and yoghurt among other activities. You will continue your journey to Entebbe where you will be dropped off at your preferred location by your guide which will mark the end of your safari.
