8 Days Uganda and Kenya safaris is a combined safari taking you on a visit to Uganda and Kenya which are both famous tourist destinations with many national park, this safari requires you to fly into Rwanda using kigali international airport and then transfer to Uganda and return back to kigali to connect to Kenya.

Detailed for itinerary for the safari
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport, to Kigali
On the first day of the safari you will be picked from Kigali international airport upon your arrival in Rwanda, your safari driver will brief you about the safari and depending on the time of your arrival you will have a city tour where you will visit places like kigali craft market where you can get to buy pottery pieces, carvings, batiks and kigali memorial site. After the tour which is probably to end in the evening you will check into your hotel, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Pick from Kigali and transfer to Mutanda Lake Resort (Uganda)
On the second day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your journey to southern-western part of Uganda to Lake Mutanda which is a drive of 3 hours. Upon your arrival in Mutanda you will check into your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon you will for a boat, Lake Mutanda has got some of the most scenic views in Uganda. While on a boat ride you get to enjoy amazing sights as you cruise on the calm waters of the lake, Lake Mutanda is a bilharzia free lake meaning it is safe of you to take a relaxing swim. After the experience on the lake you drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi forest in Uganda
On the third day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your 2 hours’ drive to Rushaga sector of Bwindi impenetrable national park for a mountain gorilla trekking experience. By 8:00 am you have to be at the park’s headquarters for briefing, hire a porter and also be assigned a group to trek, with your packed lunch you will head into the forests and hike in search for mountain gorillas which takes approximately 2-3 or more hours. After finding the mountain gorillas you will spend with them only for one hour, on one hour one you are free to take memorable pictures. After the amazing experience of coming face to face with the giant primates you will head back to the headquarters and then you can chose to do a forest walk or have a relaxing evening at your lodge. At the lodge in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali and fly to Nairobi
On the fourth day of the safari you will wake up early for morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and transfer to Kigali which is a drive of 3-4 hours. In Kigali city you will transfer to Kigali international airport to your flight to Nairobi, upon your arrival in Nairobi you will have late lunch, check into your lodge and have a relaxing evening and stay overnight.

Day 5: Domestic flight to the Masai Mara
On the fifth day of the safari you will be picked from your lodge by your safari driver after early morning breakfast and embark on your drive to Masai mara national reserve which is a drive of 6 hours, you are to arrive in the park in the afternoon and upon your arrival you will check into your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for an afternoon game drive. Masai mara national park is known for experiencing the annual migration of wildebeests which takes place in the period of July – October as the animals cross from Serengeti national park to Masai mara national reserve using Mara River. The park is also a home to lions, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos and many more which you spot while on the game drive. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight

Day 6: Full day game drives in the reserve
On the sixth day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for morning breakfast and drive to the park for a hot air balloon safari, hot air balloon safari offers Ariel view of the park and its animals such as lions, leopards, buffaloes, antelopes and many more. The experience takes approximately 2-3 hours of adventure and after the safari you will stay in the park for picnic lunch which is the main highlight of the safari where you will enjoy delicious meals amidst spectacular nature of Masai mara. In the afternoon you will go for a game drive in the plains of the park, as you drive through the park you can get to visit Mara River where you will see many animals such lions, wildebeests, hartebeests, giraffes, antelopes, leopards, cheetah and many more. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 7: morning game drive and cultural visit in Masai community
On the seventh day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning and drive to the park for an early morning game drive, early morning game drive is the perfect time to a tourists to spot many animals most especially predators as they are just waking up. As you drive in the park you will spot many animals and birds such as lions, wildebeests, hartebeests, giraffes, antelopes, leopards, cheetah and birds like Abdim’s stork, Lazy cisticola, Ostrich, Purple grenadier, Red-throated tit, Ross’s turaco, Rosy-throated longclaw, Rufous-bellied heron, Rufous-throated wryneck, Saddle-billed stork, Schalow’s turaco, Secretary bird, Silver bird, Southern ground hornbill, Swahili sparrow, Tabora cisticola, Temminck’s courser, Trilling cisticola, Usambiro barbet, White-bellied go-away bird, Woolly-necked stork, Yellow-mantled widowbird and many more. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have late breakfast and rest as you waiting for lunch, after lunch you will go a cultural visit in the Masai local community. in the masai community you will be entertained by local dances and songs, sight and enjoy traditions and cultural norms of the local people such as unique dressing code, local manyattas built using local materials. After the experience you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 8: transfer to Nairobi for departure
On the eighth and last day of the safari, you will wake up for morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and drive to the park for an early morning game drive where you will see many animals. After the game drive you exit the park and embark on your journey to Nairobi. In Nairobi you will have lunch and the be dropped off either at your hotel or at jomo Kenyatta airport for departure marking the end of your safari.
