Entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park 2021 are the levy put up for one to pay to be able to access the much-celebrated Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park located in western Uganda in the district of Kasese is one of Uganda’s premium national parks where travellers go to see a variety of wildlife including among others the tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector. Queen Elizabeth National Park has an abundant bird life and primates like the chimpanzees that can be found at Kyambura Gorge inside the park. For one to be able to visit the vast savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, entrance fees are expected to be paid. Adults and children (5-15) are all expected to pay entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park with the exemption of children below the age of 5 who enter for free. Entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park 2021 are levied by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), the body that is responsible for the conservation and protection of all Uganda national parks. The revenue collected is used to conserve the national parks by funding the conservation projects, planning and implementation of sustainable tourism plans as well as evaluating policies.
Entrance fees to Queen Elizabeth National Park 2021 are levied basing on one’s resident status as well as age with adults paying more than children, and foreign non-residents, foreign residents and East African citizens all paying variant fees, as can be seen below;

Adult foreign non-residents pay $40 while foreign residents pay $30 and East African citizens pay ugx20000 only per person per day. Child foreign non-residents pay $20 while foreign resident children pay $10 and East African citizens paying only ugx5000 per child per day.
Annual entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park
For those travellers that intend to visit the park numerous times throughout the year have an option of paying annual entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park 2021. This is however only applicable to foreign residents who have a valid work permit of at least one year, and East African citizens. Individual foreign residents pay $350 while individual East African citizens pay ugx150000 as annual entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park 2021. A foreign resident couple can pay $500 while an East African citizen couple pays ugx200000 as annual entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Families with a maximum of 4 children can also pay annual entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park. A foreign resident family with a maximum of 4 children pays $700 while a family of East African citizens pays ugx300000 per year. An annual corporate pass for foreign residents is $1500 while for East African citizens it is ugx2500000 only as annual entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park 2021.
A safari guide pays ugx100000 as annual entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park 2021. A tour company driver from a registered and known tour company in Uganda has a free pass to Queen Elizabeth National Park throughout the year.
Important to note;
- Vehicle entrance is charged separately
- Foreign residents need a valid work permit that is at least valid for a year to be qualify for an annual pass.
- One’s resident status and age are identified by a passport, carrying one is therefore necessary
- Entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park are independent of other charges inside the park say game drives, nature walks and horseback riding among others.
Vehicle and aircraft entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park
All vehicles and aircrafts to the park are required to pay entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park as may be seen below.
Motor cycles with foreign registration are required to pay $30 while those that are Ugandan registered pay $5 only. Saloon cars that are with foreign registered plates pay $40 while those that have Ugandan registered plates pay $10 only. Minibuses of foreign registration pay $50 while those that are of Ugandan registration pay $15 only. Pick-ups of foreign registration pay $50 while those of Ugandan registration pay $15.
Tour company vehicles and 4 wheel drives with foreign registration pay $150 while those with Ugandan registration pay $15 only. Over Landers with foreign registration pay an entrance fee of $150 while those with Ugandan registration pay only $50. Buses and Lorries with foreign registration are required to pay $150 and those with Ugandan registration need pay $75, while school buses with Ugandan registration have to pay $25 only.
Aircraft landing fees are applicable to all aircrafts irrespective of the registration or status of travellers, as below;
- Up to 3 seater aircrafts are each charged $20 per landing in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
- 4-6 seater aircrafts are charged $30,
- 7-14 seaters are charged $40
- 15-20 seater aircrafts are charged $50
- A 21 or more seater aircraft is charged $60, all payable per landing
Helicopters with foreign registration however are charged $100 while those that are Ugandan registered are charged $125, per landing.
Parking fees are ugx10000 per day.
Important to note on vehicles and aircrafts entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park ;
- Park entrance fees for vehicles are charged per entry
- Vehicle entrance fees do not include passenger or individual entrance fees.
- Aircraft fees are paid per landing
- Landing fees for aircrafts exclude park entry fees payable by all passengers
- Pilots en-route are however exempted from paying any fee, provided they do not spend more than 2 hours in the park.

- All visitors are required to present valid identification documents to confirm one’s resident status and age
- A day’s entrance ticket is valid for only 24 hours from time of entrance
- Any extra time spent in the park after the 24 hours are elapsed is charged as an extra day in the park.
- Children are persons that are 5-15 years of age
- Persons below the age of 5 are exempted from paying entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park
- Entrance fees are independent of package activities in the park like game drives, bird watching, among other activities in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
- Entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park are subject to change by the Uganda Wildlife Authority without prior notice.
