Katavi National Park Birdchecklist : Katavi national park is ranked as the third largest national park in the country, which covers a total surface area of about 4,471 square kilometers, located in the Southwestern region of Tanzania and it situated in a distance of about 50 kilometers from the East of Lake Tanganyika in Mpanda district within Rukwa region.  This national park stands at an elevated area of an altitude, which ranges between 820meters to 1560 meters above the sea level. more so, it considered to be among the best safari destinations in the country which is a home to over 50 mammal species such as; zebras, hippos, African elephants, impalas, giraffes, reedbucks, waterbucks, greater kudu, eland, warthogs, leopards, lions, wild dogs, hyenas, serval cats, elands, duikers, baboons, bush babies, serval cats and many others. more so, it also seen as the best spot for travelling to while on Tanzania birding safari in the country due to the fact that it harbours around 450 bird species which are classified in many types such as; water birds, forest birds and migratory birds among others which include the following below;
