Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge starts early in the morning with a briefing about the rules and regulations at the park headquarters. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest in search of the chimpanzees which takes about 2 to 5 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking, you will be able to view other primates, mammals, bats, colourful butterflies, different bird species, plant and tree species among others. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their habitat where you will be able to learn about their behaviours, habits, watch them carry out their daily activities, take photos and record videos to show people back home after the safari.

How to get to Kyambura gorge
Kyambura gorge is located in north eastern part of Queen Elizabeth national park and can be accessed by road transport means where you will drive from Entebbe/Kampala via Masaka, Mbarara or Mubende, Fort Portal and then to the park headquarters which takes about 7 to 8 hours’ drive.
You can also access Kyambura gorge by air transport means where you will book scheduled or charter domestic flights with Aerolink Uganda from Entebbe International airport to Kasese or Mweya airstrips and then connect to Kyambura gorge by road.
