Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge
Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge is a luxury accommodation facility situated in the Rushaga sector of the famous Bwindi impenetrable national park, the lodge is set on Nteko ridge at the elevation of 2161 meters overlooking Bwindi impenetrable national park forests and from the lodge you get vintage views of Kashasha River Valley, the forested hill of Nkuringo and Bwindi forests. The lodge also offers views of Virunga volcanoes and escarpments of the Albertine rift valley found in Democratic republic of Congo.
Nkuringo is where Nkuringo gorillas family of Bwindi impenetrable national park as well Nkuringo gorilla sector are found and trekked during mountain gorilla trekking experience and habituation, Nkuringo gorilla sector forests host 3 families of mountain gorillas.
Nkuringo Bwindi gorilla lodge was formerly known as Nkuringo gorilla camp and throughout the years of service to the tourists of Nkuringo sector and Bwindi impenetrable national park the camp grew into the a lodge. Because of the lodge’s excellent service to its visitors it has been awarded the “Uganda’s leading Safari Lodge by the World Travel Awards in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The lodge is situated in a distance of 300 kilometers from Nkuringo visitor’s reception, 23 kilometers and a drive of 45 minutes from the Rushaga briefing point. From the Nkuringo Bwindi gorilla lodge it is a walk of 10 – 15 minutes to the briefing point of Rushaga gorilla sector.

The lodge is a strategically located lodge aiming at offering first class accommodation to tourists visiting Bwindi impenetrable national park for mountain gorilla trekking and habituation experience. Nkuringo Bwindi gorilla lodge has a total of 16 rooms which are always open for occupancy of the lodge’s visitors, rooms at the lodge are categorized as garden cottages and bedroom villas.
Garden cottage rooms
Garden cottage rooms at Nkuringo Bwindi gorilla lodge are 8 cottage rooms hidden in a lush gardens to provide a high sense of privacy, the cottages were crafted and built using local materials such as papyrus mats for ceilings, wood for the floor and decorated with volcanic rock stones. Top of these rooms have iron sheets for catchment of rain waters, the rooms have a fire place to warm the rooms in colder nights.
Green cottage rooms feature a verandah offering stunning views of Bwindi impenetrable forests and scenic views of the Virunga volcanoes, the rooms feature a sitting area with a fire place, twin or double bed (measuring to 7 feet to allow a lot of leg room) and en-suite bathroom consisting of a large bathroom decorated in stone tile with a shower and double basins.

Villas at the lodge are four in number, these villas consists of 2 bedrooms each and they are ideal for family and groups visiting Bwindi impenetrable national park. These rooms are interconnecting and are joined by a large verandah, from the Verandah you get beautiful views of Bwindi impenetrable forests.
Each room in the Villa is self-contained with an en-suite bathroom, have a sitting room and a fire place to provide warmth in cold nights.

The lodge has a cozy restaurant with professional chefs skilled in preparing healthy and delicious local and international cuisines, the restaurant serves home-made meals and freshly baked bread. Meals at the lodge are served at a beautifully appointed dining room which offers stunning views of the Virunga volcanoes and Bwindi forests, the restaurant offers full board meals including breakfast, lunch/packed lunch for mountain gorilla trekkers and 5 course dinner. Special diets are also offered upon request.
