Promotional Offers on Uganda Safari Activities were announced by the Uganda Wildlife Authority on the 27th of November 2020 from the office of the Executive director. These promotional offers on Uganda safari activities come at a time when the Uganda Wildlife Authority, a body responsible for the conservation and protection of all Uganda national parks and protected areas, had taken a long time without giving incentives to travellers taking part in some activities like gorilla trekking or chimpanzee tracking. In the communication from the office of the executive director of the Uganda Wildlife Authority a few days ago, however, a number of promotional offers on Uganda safari activities were announced, applicable from 1st December 2020 through March 31st 2021. The discounts are available in a select activities and destinations.

The discounts are available for select destinations including Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Semuliki National Park, Lake Mburo National Park, Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve, Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve, Toro- Semuliki Wildlife Reserve and Katonga Wildlife Reserve. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for discounted Uganda gorilla permits and Kibale Forest National Park for discounted Uganda chimpanzee tracking permits.

Below are the promotional offers on Uganda safari activities as announced by the Uganda Wildlife Authority;

  1. 50% discount on park entrance fees for Lake Mburo National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Semuliki National Park, Toro- Semuliki Wildlife Reserve, Katonga Wildlife Reserve, Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve and Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve, only
  2. 50% discount on birding fees
  3. A reduction on both gorilla trekking permits and chimpanzee tracking permit fees for all visitor categories as described below;
  1. Discounted Uganda gorilla trekking permits fees;
  • East African Community citizens pay ugx150000 from ugx250000 for a gorilla trekking permit per person per trek.
  • Foreign Resident gorilla trekking permits are reduced from USD600 to USD300 per person per trek.
  • Foreign Non-Resident gorilla trekking permits are discounted from USD700 to USD400 only per person per trek.
  1. Discounted Uganda chimpanzee tracking permits;
  • East African Community citizen chimpanzee tracking permits have them reduced from ugx150000 to ugx100000 per person per trek.
  • Foreign Resident chimpanzee tracking permits reduced from USD200 to USD150 per person per trek.
  • Foreign Non-Resident chimpanzee tracking permits reduced from USD200 to USD150, per person per trek.

Important to note about discounted gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking fees is that the reduction only applies to new purchases between 1st December 2020 and 31st March 2021 and not on reschedules of already deposited on permits or purchases using credit letters. It is also important to note that no reschedules shall be allowed for the promotional permits.

These promotional offers on Uganda safari activities as announced by UWA are done in a bid to welcome travellers to visit Uganda to the various destinations in the country to manage the negative impacts of Covid-19 on Uganda tourism. The Uganda Wildlife Authority decided to reward visitors in this festive season for their continued support throughout the years and more especially through this Covid-19 pandemic period.
