The major distant source is the Kagera River in Burundi

In Uganda, the Nile starts right in Jinja town a fastest grown town in the country in the Eastern region   and once happen to be the biggest tourist’s destinations in Uganda because of being a world’s landmark that attracts many tourists who come to explore the country since its where the longest River in the world   begins from.

Historically, the Nile was formed by three principle streams that is; the Blue Nile, the Atbara which flow the highlands of Ethiopia and the White Nile, the headstreams of which flow into Lakes Victoria and Albert. Surprisingly, the name Nile is derived from the Greek Niles which probably originated from the Semitic root nahal that means a valley and thus by an extension of the meaning, a river. Unlike other great rivers known to them that flows its water from the south northward and was in flood at the warmest time of the year thus causing mystery to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks. More so, the Nile mud is black enough to have given the land itself an oldest name Kemi which means black and signifies darkness.

However, in Uganda, the Nile leaves Lake Nyanza at Ripon falls just close to the biggest town of Jinja and the Victoria Nile. Furthermore ,Nile flows to the north for  about 130 kilometers wide to Lake Kyoga .Then at the end of the River section estimates 200 kilometers long which begins from the western shores of the lake and goes along  west towards  in the south of Masindi port where the river turns in the north then it makes half circle to the north and east until Karuma falls and  the persist part flows in the west through Murchison Falls and holds out to the northern shores of Lake Albert where it express impressive river delta .Still it continues to the north of Uganda ‘’Albert Nile’’.

What interest so much at the source of the Nile, is the main point where the Nile begins from, its long journey to Mediterranean Sea. So you having a visit to the Nile you will have gainful view of the world’s longest river with its attractive Speke monument where you can take future photography as a family, friends respectively and a largest water lake in entire Africa.
