Uganda National Park Rules and Regulations 2022 -2024; Overall, Uganda a pearl of African country, a great destination for safari and its main selling features are the mountain gorillas, Big 5 Animals, the unique tree climbing, Chimpanzees scenic nature and its hospitable people. However, like any other protected area there must be rules and regulation to consider in regard of protecting the place, the same also goes the national parks. Definitely, park rules and regulation are the rules adopted or set up by the recognized body to conserve, protect the nature for future generations   or made to be followed by visitors on their safari to adventure into activities, attractions and its beautiful nature. More so, Uganda National park has to be having strict rules and regulations for over decade which has helped on impact on Uganda’s Tourism Hub.

Note; Uganda National Park is set up every after two years by the body responsible for all national parks and reserves in Uganda named as Uganda Wildlife Authority ‘’UWA’’.

Uganda National Park rules and regulations are to be observed by all tourists, tour guides and drivers, all vehicles driving inside national parks of Uganda and Reserves as written below;

Rules given to the travel guides or travelers shouldn’t drive off the track.

 While on safari to one of the ten national parks or reserves you shouldn’t disturb wildlife by sounding motor horns.

 Something like firearms and ammunitions are not permitted into the park.

While accessing to Uganda’s national parks, travelers shouldn’t exceed the speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour.

Dogs or other pets are not permitted into the park.

There is a limited time of driving in the park starts from 7:00am to 6:30 pm. Beyond 6:30pm you’re not permitted except for the night game drive only, which can be managed and guided by the park official.

Self-camping and making campfire it’s not allowed. Its only allowed at designated sites.

Driving off tracks is not allowed since all national parks set up safe trails for drivers and guides for easy tracking and protecting  the wildlife inside the park.

Unnecessary notices in the park is not allowed it can disturb wildlife and destructs game viewing experience.

Littering of rubbish in the park is not allowed, if you come with the rubbish have to take it back.

You’re not allowed to pick any vegetation or flower in the park.

All park payment receipts and entrance cards are to checked at the entrance of the park. Please always keep your receipts for your safety.

Gorilla Trekking Rules and Regulations

These are the strict rules and regulations to be truly known by the tourists before their date of travel on Uganda Gorilla Safaris.

A visitor with illness shouldn’t visit gorillas something like cold, diarrhea, flue. Note, Mountain gorillas are wild animals but we share a closest DNA of 98%, so they can easily be infected by the virus.

Always follow rules given to you by the tour guide.

Gorilla trekking experience is only limited to a group of eight people per trek.

There is a minimum age of 15 and above allowed to go for gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla national park.

While in the jungle trekking, if you want to go for long-haul please your guide to dig you a hall measuring 30 cm deep and when your done wastes must be buried.

Gorilla trekking needs someone who is physically fit to hike 1 to 7 hours but depending on their locations.

To the disabled one and those with health issues while trekking, can be carried by the potter on wheel chair in order to achieve your dream. Due to the long traveling journey from your arrival to Entebbe International Airport, you can opt to use a domestic flight that runs the park ‘’Aerolink Airline Uganda’’ to fly you to Kihihi Airline.

Gorilla Tours

Drinking, eating and smoking is not allowed.

Travelers with infectious diseases are not allowed.

Flash cameras are not permitted because they may threaten the gorillas.

On trekking experience, you should always avoid direct eye contact with gorillas but if happens accidentally just turn away as it may threaten the gorillas.

 Always listen to your guide and do what exactly he tells you do.

Keep 6 to 7 meter away from the gorillas as can be watching them in the wild.

Don’t touch on mountain gorillas are wild animals.

Where gorilla trekking is carried out the areas are so cold. That’s why we recommend you to pack useful essentials like;

Comfortable hiking shoes.

Pack your packed lunch box and enough drinking water.

Pack a digital camera with enough battery.
