The 1 Day Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Uganda Safari Tour takes you to an island that was separately constructed a home to orphanage chimpanzees. This Ngamba Island lies on the waters of Lake Victoria – the second-largest Lake on the continent of Africa. One to access there will need to take a boat cruise out on Lake Victoria.
The boat leaves at either 9:00 am or 12:45 am.
Upon arrival at the island and you will be directed by our safari guide to the visitor’s center where you will be introduced to the project and the history behind it. There are two sections in a day to visit these unique great apes. The activity here can be done’’ half-day and full day’’.
But before starting the activity, you be offered personal orientation by a chimpanzee caretaker and feeding of chimpanzees. You can opt to do ‘’full day visitation’’ where you will enjoy a view on how chimpanzees feed ‘’ from travelers raise platform area along the edges of the sanctuary fence.
You will also be offered the opportunity to watch and monitor lizards, birds, and photo taking. Activities are arranged for both half and full-day trips.

Our 1 Day Ngamba Island Chimpanzee tour package starts right from Kampala or Entebbe. You will be picked up from your hotel by our safari driver-guide, who which drive you to Lake Victoria which is a nearby water body to Kampala capital city of Uganda, and Entebbe Airport.
You will use a boat on Lake Victoria to sail to Ngamba Island and the ride takes 45 minutes. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a great view of chimpanzees inside their built fences. You will experience feeding the chimpanzees, shopping at the island gift shop as well as birding. Other activities to experience while on a visit here are; wildlife encounters, visiting a neighboring fishing village, enjoying sunbathing, and relaxing on the wind of the islands.
During your visit to Ngamba island, you will have great opportunity for you to feed the chimpanzees in a unique way right from the platform You will get excited looking at chimps as they try to gain your attention to receive food.

More so, Speed Boat takes 45 minutes from Entebbe to the Island and a Motorized Canoe takes approximately 90 minutes from Entebbe to the Island.
After the chimpanzee viewing experience, you will get on the boat to ride back on the water bank of the lake. To be transferred back to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe Airport for onward flight back home.
