Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Masai Mara national park
Transfer to Masai Mara: Be ready for pick up from your hotel in Nairobi on day 1 of 13 days Uganda, Rwanda & Kenya safari by our company representative who is yet your safari driver/ guide while in Kenya. You will be driven direct to Masai Mara one of the best savanna park in Kenya that thrills with plenty of wildlife including the annual wildebeest migration. Being a full day drive, you will set off from Nairobi as early as 8:00am with an enroute lunch. Upon park arrival, proceed to check in your lodge for lunch then embark on evening game drive.
Day 2: Full day game drive in Masai Mara national park
Full day game drive in Masai Mara: Masai Mara is big and thrills with plenty of attractions thus enjoy an early breakfast on day 2 of 13 days Uganda, Rwanda & Kenya safari and meet your driver for yet a full day game drive in the park amidst several mammals. You may choose to pack a lunch box or return to the lodge for Lunch before embarking on an evening game drive.
Day 3: Full day excursion in Masai Mara national park
Full day excursion in Masai Mara: On day 3 of 13 days safari, enjoy your breakfast just like the previous day and return to the park for yet a last day excursion to the remaining parts of the park encountering as mammal wildlife species as possible. Being a large park by the end of this day you would have maximized the sightings. After a full day excursion, return to the lodge for dinner and have an overnight rest ready to cross over in Uganda the pearl of Africa the next day.
Day 4: Fly to Uganda the pearl of Africa
Fly to Uganda: After breakfast on day 4 of 13 days Uganda, Rwanda & Kenya safari, check out of the lodge and meet your Kenya safari driver for a transfer to the airstrip to catch a flight to Uganda where you will be welcomed into the pearl of Africa and received by another safari driver/guide who will then take you through a session of briefing about the days you will spend in Uganda as you head to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park: On day 5 of 13 days East Africa safari, check out of your hotel in Kampala /Entebbe and be driven to Queen Elizabeth national park which is about 6-7 hours’ drive. Lunch will be enjoyed enroute while dinner will be at the lodge upon arrival.
Day 6: Game drive and boat cruise
Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise: Enjoy your breakfast on day 6 of 13 days Uganda, Rwanda & Kenya safari, and meet your Uganda safari driver /Guide for an early morning game drive in the plains of Kasenyi with in Queen Elizabeth national park. During game drive, look out of several park dwellers including mammals, birds, butterflies and many more. After game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and embark on an afternoon cruise along the kazinga channel that thrills with a huge population of Hippos and other aquatic wildlife.
Day 7: Ishasha game drive and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Game drive in Ishasha sector: On day 7 of 13 days East Africa safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your safari driver for a transfer to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park for another fascinating game drive in search of tree climbing Lions. During game drive in Ishasha sector, you will as well be able to encounter with other wildlife including more mammals, birds and many more. Enjoy a picnic lunch and finally exit the forest for a drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will arrive late in the evening, proceed to check in for dinner and overnight sleep.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park: Enjoy your breakfast on day 8 of 13 days safari then meet your safari driver/ guide for a transfer to the briefing grounds of the trail head of the sector you intend to trek in since Bwindi thrills with 4 different gorilla trekking sectors including Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga, and Ruhija sector. You will there for be transferred to one sector depending on your permit where you will attend briefing with other trekkers and later on set off on a forest walk to search for the habituated gorilla family together with other trekkers in your group amidst tight security of the armed rangers. The trek lasts about 2-8 hours with 1 hour of you close to gorillas then exit the forest and head to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight sleep.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for canoe ride
Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi: on day 9 of 13 days Uganda, Rwanda & Kenya safari, enjoy your breakfast then check out of the lodge and be driven from Bwindi impenetrable national park in Kanungu district to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Expect to arrive in time for lunch then embark on afternoon canoe ride along the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest in the world. You will be able to explore different islands situated along Lake Bunyonyi including Akampene “the punishment island” where bakiga ladies that would conceive before marriage were always taken and abandoned to die from there. You will be able to learn more about each island. Return to your lodge later on for dinner and overnight rest.
Day 10: Transfer to Rwanda
Drive to Rwanda: On day 10 of 13 days Uganda, Rwanda & Kenya safari, arise from your bed early in the morning, have a guide nature walk exploring different corners of Lake Bunyonyi after which you will check out of the lodge and be driven from Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale to Kigali Rwanda where you will spend your overnight. In case you arrive early, you will enjoy a brief Kigali city tour before retiring to your bed for night sleep.
Day 11: Drive to Nyungwe forest national park
Drive to Nyungwe forest national park: After an early breakfast on day 11 of 13 days Uganda, Rwanda & Kenya safari, meet your Rwanda safari driver for a transfer to Nyungwe forest national park taking about 6-7 hours’ drive via rolling hills of Rwanda and stunning vegetation cover to the home of over 13 primate species just like Kibale forest national park in Uganda. Lunch will be enroute and upon arrival, you will check in your lodge for dinner and overnight sleep.
Day 12: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk
Chimpanzee trekking: On day 12 of 13 days Uganda, Rwanda & Kenya safari, have your breakfast and meet your driver for a transfer to the briefing grounds where you will meet other trekkers and rangers ready to take you through a session of briefing. After briefing, hire a porter to assist in carrying your backpack and be led into the forest to search for the habituated chimpanzees in their natural habitats. Spend about 2-5 hours in the forest and upon finding chimpanzees, you will spend only one hour in their natural habitats taking photographs and closely interacting with the chimpanzees then exit the forest back to the lodge for lunch.
Canopy walk: Later in the evening, return to the forest for a fascinating 2-3 hours canopy walk that will take you on a long raised canopy in the middle of Nyungwe forest while spotting several wildlife species including primates, mammals, birds, and several plant species.
Day 13: Drive to Kigali
Drive to Kigali: On day 13 of 13 days Uganda, Rwanda & Kenya safari, enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the comfort of your lodge then check out of the lodge ready for a drive from Nyungwe forest national park to Kigali the capital city of Rwanda. Lunch will be enroute and upon arrival, you will either be dropped off at a hotel or direct at Kigali international airport to catch a flight to the next destination.
