Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda the pearl of Africa

Arrival: Upon landing at Entebbe international airport on day 1 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting, you will be welcomed into the country by our representative who will pick you up, brief you and drive you to your respective hotel for a relaxed evening.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja & Visit source of the Nile

Transfer to Jinja & visit source of the Nile: After breakfast at the comfort of your hotel on day 2 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting, check out and embark on a journey to Jinja with a stopover at Sezibwa falls to experience a brief touch of Baganda who believe that their ancestors reside at these falls. Sezibwa falls are also crucial for birding. The next stopover will be at Mabira National Forest Reserve which is yet a best birding spot. You may as well take on some activities like Zip Lining, forest walk, Mangabey monkey trekking and many more then return on a journey to Jinja with an enroute lunch. Getting to Jinja, you will proceed to Nile River for a boat cruise to visit source of the Nile.

Day 3: Jinja White Water Rafting and return to Kampala 

Jinja White water rafting: Once you finish your breakfast on day 3 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting, meet your safari driver/ guide for a transfer to Itanda waterfalls for white water rafting adventure where you will raft up to grade 5 as long as you are able to do so. You may as well enjoy Quad biking and other activities enjoyed at the water fall. Then return to your lodge for late lunch. Check out of the lodge and embark on a drive back to Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale forest national park

Transfer to kibale forest national park: wake up for a relaxed breakfast at your hotel in Kampala on day 4 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting then set off for a drive to Kibale forest national park with an enroute lunch in Fortpotal. Kibale forest national park is one of the best primate destination in Uganda the pearl of Africa and world as it harbors over 13 species of primates including chimpanzees, olive baboons, red tailed monkeys, Black and white Colobus monkeys, Blue monkeys, Vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, bush babies, Pottos and many more. Once you get at the park, check in your lodge for dinner and night rest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi Nature walk

Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi nature walk: Upon finishing your breakfast on day 5 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing before penetrating into forest to search for the habituated troop of Chimpanzees in the forest. Chimpanzee trekking takes about 30 minutes to about 5 hours depending on their movement. Once you find chimpanzees, spend only 1 hour in their vicinity taking photographs and closely watching these chimpanzees as they move on with their daily activities. After an hour, exit the forest and return to the lodge for lunch then embark on an after bigodi walk in this birders haven where you will encounter with plenty of birdlife, primates and botanical plant species.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park: Wakeup early in the morning on day 6 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting, have a relaxed breakfast after which you will check out of the lodge ready to meet your safari driver for a transfer from Kibale forest national park to Queen Elizabeth national park. Lunch will be enjoyed enroute and upon arrival, check in your lodge for a relaxed dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 7: Morning & Launch cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park

Morning game drive & afternoon boat cruise: After breakfast on day 7 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting, you will spend a half day on a thrilling game drive in the Kasenyi plains that comprise of stunning savanna vegetation cover which act as habitat for plenty of wildlife species including primates, mammals, birds and many more. After game drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch then embark on an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel ready to spot a huge class of Hippos, and other aquatic wildlife species. Retire to your lodge for dinner and night sleep.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park: After breakfast on day 8 of 14 days Uganda tour, you will check out of the lodge with a packed lunch box and be ready for a drive to Bwindi with an enroute game drive in Ishasha sector with an opportunity of spotting of tree climbing lions. Exit Queen Elizabeth national park and be driven direct to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi & transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi: On day 9 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting, you will have an early breakfast at the lodge, pack your lunch box and be transferred to the trailhead for briefing about gorilla trekking. After briefing, hire a porter and start the adventure of searching for the habituated gorillas in their natural habitats. You will spend 1 hour with gorillas in their natural habitats then exit the forest back to your lodge check out and transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park for dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 10: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla national park: After breakfast on day 10 of 14 days Uganda tour, your safari driver will take you to the briefing grounds to participate in briefing with other trekkers. After briefing, you will 0enter into the forest to search for Golden monkeys in their natural habitats then return to the lodge for lunch, check out of the lodge and be driven to Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing dinner and night sleep.

Day 11: Full day lake Bunyonyi safari

Full day on Lake Bunyonyi: After a relaxed breakfast at the shores of Lake Bunyonyi on day 11 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting, head out for a full day excursion on this fresh water lake. You will enjoy a canoe ride, nature walk, birding, and many more except for swimming which is not encouraged by learners. Only experienced swimmers can take part in swimming on this deep lake.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

Transfer to Lake Mburo national park: After enjoying your breakfast overlooking the shores of Lake Bunyonyi on day 12 of 14 days Uganda primates, wildlife & white water rafting, check out of the lodge and set off for a drive to Lake Mburo national park the smallest savanna park in Uganda and the nearest to Kampala capital city. Lunch will be enroute in Mbarara and upon park arrival, proceed for an afternoon boat cruise along one of the lakes in the park to spot several wildlife that visit the waterbody over hot scotching sun. After a 2-3 hours boat cruise, enjoy an enroute evening game drive as you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 13: Walking safari/ game drive & transfer to Entebbe 

Walking safari/ morning game drive and transfer to Entebbe: Early in the morning on day 13 of 14 days Uganda tour, head out for either a game drive or a walking safari since Lake Mburo national park is famous for offering the best walking safari. After walking safari or gam drive whichever you choose, return to the lodge for breakfast then check out and be driven to Entebbe where you will spend the remaining hours of the day at leisure.

Day 14: departures

Departures: In case you have a late evening/ night flight on day 14 of 14 days Uganda tour, I would recommend that you have a visit to Ngamba Island to spend time with the orphaned chimpanzees at Ngamba island sanctuary. The finally drop-off point will be Entebbe international airport.
