Details of the tour

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi national park

Transfer to Bwindi: You will be picked up by your guide who will brief you about the details of your 4 days trip to Lake Bunyonyi and Bwindi Impenetrable national park. After the briefing, you will be driven by your guide to Bwindi national park with a brief stopover at the equator where you will enjoy photography moments and visit the craft shops around the equator. You will see the different local art and crafts such as hand-woven baskets with different patterns and also interact with the locals who live around the equator. After your experience at the equator, you will have a stopover in Mbarara where you will have lunch. You will proceed to drive to your lodge in Bwindi national park after lunch. On arrival at your lodge, you will check-in and enjoy a relaxing evening. You will have dinner and overnight at Buhoma haven lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

Gorilla Trekking: You will wake up for an early morning breakfast at your lodge. After your breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters to start your gorilla trekking experience. At the park headquarters, you will be briefed about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. You will also be divided into groups of 8 people to trek one gorilla group and spend 1 hour with the gorillas. During this gorilla trekking safari, you will follow different trails in the impenetrable forest as you search for the gorillas in their natural habitat. You will also see a variety of butterflies, bird species as well as different tree species during your gorilla trek. After the gorilla trekking experience, you will trek back to the briefing point at the park headquarters where you will be met by your guide who will drive you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Buhoma haven lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bunyonyi and evening boat cruise

Transfer to Bunyonyi: You will wake up for an early breakfast at your lodge and then check out of the lodge. After checking out of the lodge, you will start your drive to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. At Lake Bunyonyi, you will check-in at your lodge and proceed to enjoy a relaxing boat cruise.
Boat Cruise: During the boat cruise on Uganda’s deepest lake, you will see the beautiful islands such as the punishment island which is known as the place where unmarried pregnant girls were punished. You will also see a number of hills and their beautiful terraces as you enjoy the boat ride on lake Bunyonyi.
Cultural Experience: After the boat ride, you will relax at the shores of lake Bunyonyi as you have lunch. You will engage in swimming and other leisure activities as you prepare for the cultural experience. During the cultural experience, you will interact with the Batwa people (pygmies) who are also known as forest dwellers. You will learn about their way of life, food preparation methods, culture, and traditions. You will also enjoy traditional dance performances by the Batwa. After your cultural experience, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Arcadia lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala and departure

Return to Kampala: You will wake up for an early breakfast at your lodge on the last day of your trip. After breakfast, you will check out of your lodge. You will proceed to drive back to Kampala City with a stopover at Igongo cultural center where you will learn different aspects about the Ankole culture such as local ghee making, long-horned cattle, Ankole history and so much more. You will also have lunch at Igongo cultural center. After lunch, you will continue your drive back to Kampala where your guide will drop you off at your preferred location which will mark the end of your trip to Lake Bunyonyi and Bwindi national park.
