Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park,
Depending on your agreed place of stay on the first day of the 4 Days Queen Elizabeth and Kalinzu Safari Tour, our driver guide will pick you up, brief you about the safari, and then transfer you to the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park which lies in western Uganda. On the way, you will have a stopover in a beautiful Fort Portal for lunch where after proceeding the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park with impressive views of tea plantations, crater lakes, Rwenzori Mountains, beautiful landscapes, and others. Upon arrival in Queen Elizabeth National Park you will drive through the park to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Elephant Hab Safari Lodge – Mid-range and Pumba Safari Cottages – Budget

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu forest and afternoon boat cruise
Chimpanzee trekking,
On the second day of the 4 Days Queen Elizabeth and Kalinzu Safari Tour, you will have an early breakfast, and meet up with your driver guide to drive you to Kalinzu forest for the briefing about the chimpanzee trekking rules. After the briefing, you will be allocated a park guide to lead you into forest trails in search of habituated great apes in their natural environment. Trekking of chimpanzees in Kalinzu forest can last between 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the chimpanzee’s location since they like moving from one place to another looking for food.
During trekking, you will enjoy rewarding views of other primate species such as baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, notable bird species, some animals like elephants, plant and tree species more others. On finding them, you will be allowed an hour to spend with them as you learn about their behaviors and habits, play, groom themselves, and build their nest in the evening among others. After an incredible encounter with chimpanzees, you will descend back to the park headquarters to meet up with your driver guide to drive you back to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon boat cruise,
After lunch, you will drive to the landing site near the luxurious lodge ‘’Mweya Safari Lodge’’ for an impressive boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, a water body that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The scheduled boat cruise takes between 2 to 3 hours ride and gives you a great opportunity to enjoy clear photos, cruise meters away from a large range of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, and other animals like elephants, buffaloes, antelopes many more which will be drinking water along the banks, aquatic bird species such as swamp nightjar, grey headed kingfisher, little bee-eater, swamp flycatcher, pygmy kingfisher, black headed gonolek, view fishermen on the lake shores preparing their fishing gears for night fishing among others. After an exciting boat cruise, you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight as above.

Day 3: Full day game drive in the Ishasha sector
On the third day of the 4 Days Queen Elizabeth and Kalinzu Safari Tour, you will have breakfast at the lodge, meet up with your driver guide, and then drive to Ishasha sector the main selling area in Queen Elizabeth National Park that harbors the famous tree climbing lions. During the game drive you will be able to watch rarely tree-climbing lions lazily lying up in acacia/ fig tree branches if you are lucky, and view other animals including Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, elephants, hippos, and a lot more. After the game drive you will drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Topi Lodge.

Day 4: Departure to Kampala or Mbarara
After a tasty breakfast on the last day of the 4 Days Queen Elizabeth and Kalinzu Safari Tour, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kampala or Mbarara. On the way you will have an en-route lunch in Mbarara town and a stopover at the Equator where you will buy souvenirs and take memorable photographs. From the Equator, continue to drive to Kampala and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at any place of your convenience.
