Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and drive to Kampala
- Arrival and drive to Kampala: Your guide will meet you at your current location or at Entebbe international airport and you will be briefed about your safari. After the briefing, you will be driven to Kampala city along the busy city streets filled with traffic and pedestrians. You will be driven to your hotel for check-in and to have lunch before your city tour. You will have a city tour later in the day as you explore Kampala’s different attractions such as the Uganda museum to get to know more about the history of Uganda. You will also visit the Gadhafi mosque and the Nakasero market. You will proceed to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Naguru skyz hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and evening game drive
- Transfer to Queen Elizabeth: After breakfast which is served early at your hotel in Kampala, you will check out of the hotel and proceed for your drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will have a stopover at the equator where you will enjoy taking photos and also relax around the equator as you watch different experiments at the equator such as the water experiment. You will also have lunch and visit craft shops during your visit to the equator to see local art and craftwork as well as see different souvenirs. You will continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will check-in at your lodge.
- Evening game drive: You will also have an evening game drive to experience the wilderness of the national park and to see the various wildlife species around the park. After your evening game drive, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Pumba cottages.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and evening boat cruise
- Chimpanzee trekking: Wake up for breakfast served early morning at your lodge as you prepare for your chimpanzee trekking activity. You will proceed to Kalinzu forest which is among the attractions in Queen Elizabeth national park and is the location for chimpanzee trekking at this destination. As you search for the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, you will see the chimpanzees swinging from tree branches as well as other primate species that live in the forest such as black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys among others. Different bird species can also be seen in the forest during chimpanzee trekking. You will return to your lodge for lunch after your chimpanzee trekking activity and you will have your lunch.
- Evening boat cruise: After lunch, you will enjoy the rest of the afternoon in the comfort of your lodge. In the evening, you will have an evening boat cruise along the kazinga channel as you watch the beautiful sunset as well as different wildlife species in the water such as hippos and Nile crocodiles and also various bird species such as cormorants, hammerkops, kingfishers, fish eagles. You will return to your lodge after your boat ride for dinner and overnight at Pumba cottages.
Day 4: Departure
- Departure: You will have your breakfast at your lodge as the night before and then you will check out of the lodge. You will have a stop in Mbarara for lunch before you continue with your journey back to Entebbe where your guide will drop you off at your preferred location which will mark the end of your safari.
