The safari will take you to Bwindi impenetrable National park a magical gorilla highland set in the Southwest, where you will encounter habituated families of mountain gorillas. The Bwindi impenetrable national park is located in southwestern Uganda. The park is a component of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and is situated along the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) border next to the Virunga National Park and on the edge of the Albertine Rift.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up—transfer to Jinja—visit the source of the Nile

Upon arrival at Entebbe airport (depending on your location in Entebbe/Kampala), meet your guide and transfer to Jinja town, which is about a 3-4-hour drive with en-route sightseeing. Upon arrival with en-route lunch, connect for a boat trip to visit the source of the Nile and boat cruise on Lake Victoria before you check in to your reserved hotel for dinner and overnight stay Nile Front Cottages for budget/2 Friends Guesthouse for mid-range

Day 2: White water rafting and transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, meet your driver and connect for a white water rafting experience on the Nile; it’s a full-day activity. You will first report for briefing and then be provided with rafting gear for the activity. After rafting, connect to the lodge to check-out and transfer to Kampala where you will connect to your reserved lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Forest Cottages for budget/Kabira country Club for mid-range

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park (8-9 hours)

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and embark on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. This park is located in the southwestern part of Uganda. The drive is interesting with great views of the country’s landscape and the people. En-route lunch and stop at the Uganda Equator. Upon arrival, proceed to your booked lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight stay at Community Rest Camp for budget/Buhoma Haven Lodge for mid-range

Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience and Batwa community tour

After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing about the endangered mountain gorillas from the park warden. Along with your trekking gear, drinking water, and packed lunch, the driver will drop you off at the starting point to trek the gorillas together with the ranger guides. This activity may take between 1 and 8 hours to search for the gorillas depending on their movement. However, meeting them is so rewarding and you will spend maximally 1 hour with them as you take time studying them and taking pictures and videos. After the gorilla trekking experience, visit the Batwa community. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above

Day 5: Transfer Back to Kampala/Entebbe (8-9 hours’ drive)

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch. Upon arrival in the evening, you will be dropped off at a location you advise or at Entebbe airport for your flight back home.
