Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kampala
- Arrival in Entebbe: Your guide will meet you upon arrival or at your hotel in Entebbe depending on your location and you will be briefed about your safari. After the briefing, you will be driven to Kampala for a city tour where you will visit the museum to learn more about Uganda’s history and see different arts and crafts.
- Transfer to Kampala: You will also see attractions such as the Gadhafi mosque as well as other landmarks around the city. Lunch will also be had from the city center as you enjoy watching the busy city life while enjoying your meals. After lunch, you will be driven to your hotel where you will check-in and have a relaxing time. You will also have dinner and overnight at Sky view hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Gulu
- Drive to Gulu: Wake up for breakfast at your lodge and then check out of your lodge. After checking out of your hotel, you will be driven to Gulu town where you will have lunch and also interact with the local community of the Acholi people. You will proceed to your hotel for check-in and also dinner and overnight at Acholi Inn.
Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park and Evening game drive
- Transfer to Kidepo: An early breakfast will be prepared for you at your hotel in Gulu and you will then proceed to check out of your hotel. Your guide will drive you to Kidepo valley national park where you will have an enroute game drive where you will see wildlife species grazing in the savannah plains of the national park. You will check-in and have lunch at your lodge and spend some relaxing time at your lodge.
- Evening Game Drive: Later in the evening, you will have another game drive where you will see wildlife species such as buffalos, zebras, elephants. Hyenas, giraffes, cheetahs among others. You will also see the beautiful Narus valley where a seasonal river flows and wildlife species can be seen drinking water and grazing nearby. This national park is also known for amazing birding opportunities as a variety of bird species can be seen such as ostriches, shrikes, woodpeckers among others. After this experience, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Apoka safari lodge.
Day 4: Morning Game drive and Community visit
- Morning Game drive: You will wake up for breakfast at your lodge and you will continue to explore the national park during your morning game drive where you will see a variety of wildlife species that are more active at this time of day. Your guide will drive you around as you search for the different wildlife species in the national park such as jackals, klipspringers, cheetahs, giraffes, reedbucks, zebras, kudus among others.
- Community visit: You will return to your lodge where you will have lunch and relax as you enjoy the beautiful scenery around you. You will have a community visit where you will interact with Karamojong community and get to know more about their culture and way of life. After your interaction with the Karamojong people, you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Apoka safari lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
- Transfer to Murchison: You will have breakfast at your lodge in Kidepo national park and then check out of your lodge. After checking out of your lodge, your guide will drive you to Murchison falls national park with a stopover in Gulu town for lunch.
- Game Drive: After lunch, you will proceed to Murchison falls national park where you will have an enroute game drive as you watch the different wildlife and bird species on your way to your lodge where you will check-in and have dinner and overnight at Pakuba safari lodge.
Day 6: Morning Game drive and Evening boat cruise
- Morning Game drive: Breakfast will be served to you at your lodge and your guide will drive you around Murchison falls national park where you will see a variety of wildlife species such as hartebeests, hyenas, waterbucks, hippos, rhinos, warthogs, elephants among others which can be spotted easily during the morning game drives. You will also see a variety of bird species such as bee-eaters, weavers, gonoleks, warblers, fish eagles, grey crowned cranes among others during your morning game drive.
- Evening boat cruise: You will return to your lodge and have lunch as you relax in the comfort of your lodge. You will also have an evening boat cruise where you will enjoy the beautiful sunset as you watch the thunderous Murchison falls in a distance. You will also see wildlife species such as hippos and crocodiles in the water as well as many other wildlife species grazing near the shores of the Victoria Nile. You will return to your lodge after your evening boat ride for dinner and overnight at Pakuba safari lodge.
Day 7: Transfer to Kampala via Zziwa rhino sanctuary
- Transfer to Kampala: After breakfast at your lodge, you will check out of your lodge and your guide will drive you to Zziwa rhino sanctuary. You will see the rhinos during your visit to this sanctuary as well as different bird species. You will also have lunch at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary and then your guide will drive you to Entebbe where you will be dropped off at your preferred location which will mark the end of your safari.
