Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale forest national park

Pick and transfer to Kibale forest national park: On the 1st day of 8 days Uganda wildlife and primate safari tour, our company representative will be ready to pick you up from your location be it at your hotel in Kampala or straight from Entebbe international airport and set off on a drive to Kibale forest national park in fortpotal. Kibale forest is one of the top destinations in Uganda visited mostly by primate lovers who wish to enjoy chimpanzee trekking as well as chimpanzee habituation experience. Well, along the way, you will stopover for lunch and proceed to your destination. Depending on your arrival time, proceed to check in your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking safari in Kibale forest national park

Chimpanzee trekking safari and Bigodi nature walk: After breakfast on day 2 of 8 days Uganda wildlife and primate safari tour, meet your safari driver with a packed lunch box and be driven to the park headquarters in Kanyanchu where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking adventure, the dos and don’ts during the trek and all other possible encounters during the trek among others. After briefing, ensure that you hire a porter to asset in carrying the extra backpacker and set off to the forest to start the search of the habituated troops of chimpanzees. The entire forest walk takes about a few minutes to about 5 hours after which you will spend only one hour in their absence closely interacting with them and later on exit the forest to return for lunch at your lodge. Later in the evening after relaxing from chimpanzee trekking, you will be led into Bigodi wetland for a fascinating guided evening walk. Bigodi wetland is one of the best destinations for birders and botanical lovers thus during the walk with the local guide, you will be rewarded with plenty of bird species including the rare shoebill stork as well as different plant species including those used as medicine to treat different infections.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park: After breakfast on day 3 of 8 days Uganda wildlife and primate safari tour, meet your safari drive and head out of the lodge to visit some of the fascinating attractions in Fortpotal including Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves or opt for a visit to the crater lakes after which you will enjoy an enroute lunch and be driven to Queen Elizabeth national park arriving in evening for lodge check in, dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 4: Game drive in kasenyi plains & afternoon kazinga channel boat cruise

Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park: After enjoying your breakfast on day 4 of 8 days Uganda wildlife and primate safari tour, your safari driver will transfer you to Kasenyi plains for a breath taking game drive adventure which is always the top thing to do in any savanna park of uganda the pearl of Africa and Queen Elizabeth national park being one of them offers a stunning opportunity of encountering with several mammals, birds and even enjoying the stunning fauna of the park. Amongst wildlife spotted during morning game drive include; elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Uganda kob, antelopes, Leopards, and several species of birds. Upon completing your game drive, return for lunch at your lodge and embark on an afternoon boat cruise conducted along Kazinga channel that connect Lake Edward to Lake Gorge. After the game drive, you will then enjoy your picnic lunch in the wild under tree shade and later on exit the park and proceed your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to the largest population of the still surviving endangered mountain gorillas in Africa with the remaining population being distributed in Mgahinga gorilla national park, Virunga national park and Volcanoes national park. Bwindi impenetrable national park is situated far in south western part of Uganda the pearl of Africa. Upon arrival, check in your lodge for dinner and overnight sleep awaiting the next day’s adventure with the gorillas.

Day 6: Mountain gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi impenetrable national park

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park: Have a heavy breakfast on day 6 of 8 days Uganda wildlife and primate safari tour then pack enough snacks and drinking water and be driven to join other trekkers for briefing at your respective sector. After briefing, hire a porter and let the adventure begin as you penetrate the impenetrable forest in search of habituated gorilla family. Upon finding the family, you will spend only one hour in the forest watching the gorillas as they play, copulate, fight, breast feed, and many more. Once an hour elapses, exit the forest and be returned to your lodge for a relaxed evening or else opt for an evening Batwa experience.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for canoeing safari

Drive to Lake Bunyonyi for Canoe ride: After breakfast on day 7 of 8 days Uganda wildlife and primate safari tour, check out of the lodge and meet your safari driver for a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale district where you will arrive in time for lunch. Enjoy a relaxed lunch and spend your evening on a canoe ride exploring different islands since Lake Bunyonyi harbors 29 islands. You will be able to listen to different stories about the history of the islands as well as watch several birds since the lake is a lake of several little birds without forgetting the stunning view of rolling hills and terraces that surround the Lake giving a best background for photography. You may as well enjoy an evening walk before retiring for dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 8: Transfer back to Kampala for departures

Departures: Having a relaxed breakfast at the shores of Lake Bunyonyi is one of the best way to wind up your 8 days Uganda wildlife and primate safari tour after which you will check out of the lodge and set off on a road drive to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara city for an enroute lunch.
