Queen Elizabeth National Park Entrance Fees & Charges –Uganda Safaris
Queen Elizabeth National Park Entrance Fees & Charges : Park entrance fees are fees charged to access the park’s activities just like other protected areas like cinema hall among others. Note the money charged as entrance fees is used to support the conservation programs stipulated by the governing body ‘’UWA’’ Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Queen Elizabeth national park entrance fees are paid on every gate at the park like Kabatoro main gate. Therefore, before you access the park you required to present in a valid personal identification, which identifies your status whether you’re a foreigner, foreign resident and East African member.
Note, the foreign residents of Uganda are required to present a valid one year working permits.
The foreigner is required to present their passports for verification and the East African citizen have to present their national identification cards to get the access to Queen Elizabeth national park.
The park entrance fees are paid basing on the status of the individuals that is foreign resident, foreign nonresident and East African members
Individuals
Foreigner nonresident is entitled to pay USD40, foreigner resident is entitled to pay USD30 and UGX20,000 East African members. The park entry is only for a single day ‘’24 hours’’ and any extra minute from the agreed time of the permit become an extra day.
Note; The park entry fees are not levied on children under 15 years, is 15 years and above.
Annual entry fees; Understand this that the annual entry fees to Queen Elizabeth national park are only allowed to the Foreign resident who have become the members of the East African community and East African member of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
A foreign resident of Uganda is entitled to pay USD350 as annual entry fees to Queen Elizabeth national park.
East African members is entitled to pay UGX150,000 as annual entry fees to Queen Elizabeth national park.
A couple who are foreign resident are charged USD500 as annual entry fees to Queen Elizabeth national park
A couple who are resident of the East African community are charged UGX200,000 as annual entry fees to Queen Elizabeth national park.
A family for foreign resident with a maximum of four kids are charged USD700 for annual entry fees to Queen Elizabeth national park.
A family of east African citizens is entitled to pay UGX300,000 to park entrance fees.
A corporate foreign residents are charged USD1500 as annual entry fees to the park.
A corporate East African citizens are charged USD2.5millions as annual entry fees to the park.
A safari guide is charged UGX100,000 for annual park entrance fees and must be a citizen of the East African community. The same charges required of taxi driver as an annual park entry fee to Queen Elizabeth national park.
Tour company drivers enter the park on free entry.
Transport; Queen Elizabeth national park is not only applicable to individuals but also the motor engines that enter the park like vehicles and air crafts as follows;
Motor cycles are entitled USD30 for the foreign residents and UGX10,000 for the East African citizens.
Saloon cars are entitled USD40 for the foreign residents and UGX20,000 for the East Africa citizens to enter the park.
Minibuses are entitled USD50 for the foreign residents and UGX30,000 for the east African citizens.
Pickups and 4WD car are entitled to pay USD50 for foreign residents and UGX30,000 for the east African residents.
School buses are expected to pay UGX50,000
Air crafts
Helicopters are entitled to pay USD100 and UGX250,000 per landing for foreign residents and east African citizens respectively.
A 4 to 21 with above seats are charged from USD30 to USD50 for the foreign residents and UGX60,000 to UGX12000 for the east African residents.
Note; Parking fees for aircraft per day is USD8 for the foreign residents and UGX 5000 for the east African citizens.
Caution
The vehicle entry fees are entitled per entry in the park.
The landing fees are independent of the park entry fees of Queen Elizabeth national park within 24 hours.
The en-route pilots are not liable to the park entry fees if they stay for less than 2 hours.
Queen Elizabeth national park activities charges
Boat cruise/launch cruise for foreign nonresident pay USD30 per person per day, foreign resident USD30 and East African member UGX30,000
Guided game drive –private; Foreign nonresident pay USD30, foreign resident USD30 and East African members UGX30,000. You’re recommended to use UWA guide for night game drive.
Guided nature walks; Foreign nonresident is to pay USD15, foreign resident USD15 and East Africa Member UGX10,000.
Student guided walk ‘’per 6 people’’; East African members UGX10,000.
Chimpanzee tracking -Kyambura gorge; Foreign nonresident pay USD50, foreign resident USD50 and East African citizens pay UGX30 ,000 per person per day.
Lion tracking experience; Foreign nonresident USD100, foreign resident USD100 and East African members UGX100,000 per head per day.
Hippo census; Foreign nonresident pay USD100, foreign resident USD100 and East African members pays UGX100,000.
