The park entrance fee for visiting national parks in Uganda is quoted in US dollars and in Uganda shillings. This fee is also valid for 24 hours upon entry into the national park and after spending more than the twenty four hours in the park, tourists will be charged an extra fee for visiting the destination.

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) sets the park entrance fees for different national parks in Uganda which include Murchison falls national park, Queen Elizabeth national park,  Bwindi national park, Mgahinga national park, Kidepo valley national park, Mount Elgon national park, Rwenzori mountains national park, Lake Mburo national park, Semuliki national park and Kibale national park.

When visiting the different national parks in Uganda, activities such as gorilla tracking, chimpanzee tracking, golden monkey tracking, gorilla habituation experience, chimpanzee habituation experience, golden monkey habituation experience, boat safaris, mountain climbing, nature walks among others are charged independently.

The national park entrance fees for Uganda in 2024 are also charged differently according to nationality (Foreign nonresidents, Foreign residents and East African citizens.) Children aged between and adults are also charged different park entrance fees.

Park entrance fee for visiting Murchison falls national park is 45 USD per person for wildlife tours in 2024

Foreign nonresident tourists visiting Kidepo valley national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi national park, Mgahinga national park, Kibale national park and Lake Mburo national park is 40 USD per person.

A fee of 35 USD per person is paid by foreign nonresidents visiting Rwenzori mountains national park, Semuliki national park, Mount Elgon national park. This fee also applies for foreign nonresidents visiting reserves such as Toro Semuliki reserve, Katonga reserve and Pian Upe reserve.

Tourists visiting reserves such as Ajai reserve, Bokora reserve, Bugungu reserve, East Madi reserve, Kabwoya reserve, Karuma reserve, Kigezi reserve, Kyambura reserve and Matheniko reserve in 2024 pay entrance fee of 10 USD per person.

Park entrance fees for foreign residents visiting Uganda in 2024

Foreign residents visiting Murchison falls national park pay park entrance fee of 35 USD per person in 2024.

Visiting national parks such as Kidepo valley national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi national park, Mgahinga national park, Kibale national park and Lake Mburo national park is charged 30 USD per person for foreign residents on safari in Uganda in 2024.

Park entrance fee for visiting Rwenzori mountains national park, Semuliki national park, Mount Elgon national park in 2024 is 25 USD per person.

5 USD per person is paid as entrance fee for visiting wildlife reserves such as Ajai reserve, Bokora reserve, Bugungu reserve, East Madi reserve, Kabwoya reserve, Karuma reserve, Kigezi reserve, Kyambura reserve and Matheniko reserve in 2024.

East Africans visiting Murchison falls national park in Uganda in 2024 are charged park will pay park entrance fee of 25,000 Uganda shillings.

Park entrance fee which will be paid for visiting national parks such as Kidepo valley national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi national park, Mgahinga national park, Kibale national park and Lake Mburo national park  in 2024 will 20,000 UGX for East Africans.

Park entrance fees for children visiting Uganda in 2024

Foreign nonresident children aged between 5 and 15 years visiting Murchison falls national park will be charged park entrance fee of 25 USD per person in 2024.

In 2024, foreign resident children aged between 5 and 15 years will be charged park entrance fee of 15 USD to visit Murchison falls national park. East African citizen children will be charged entrance fee of 10,000 UGX to visit Murchison falls national park.

For visiting national parks such as Kidepo valley national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi national park, Mgahinga national park, Kibale national park and Lake Mburo national park in 2024, foreign nonresident children aged between 5 and 15 years will be charged park entrance fee of 20 USD.

Foreign resident children aged between 5 and 15 years visiting Kidepo valley national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi national park, Mgahinga national park, Kibale national park and Lake Mburo national park in 2024 will be charged park entrance fee of 10 USD per person.

East African children aged between 5 and 15 years will be charged park entrance fee of 5,000 UGX to visit Kidepo valley national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi national park, Mgahinga national park, Kibale national park and Lake Mburo national park in 2024.

Park entrance fees for children aged between 5 and 15 years visiting Rwenzori mountains national park, Semuliki national park and Mount Elgon national park will be charged 5 USD for foreign nonresidents and foreign residents and East African children will be charged entrance fee of 2500 UGX per person.

Children below the age of 5 years will not be charged park entrance fees to visit the different national parks in Uganda in 2024. However, park entrance fees can easily be changed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Other entrance fees which will be charge during tours around Uganda as set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority include fees for visiting the Zziwa rhino sanctuary which is known for being home to rhinos in Uganda.

Entrance fee of 20 USD per person will be paid by foreign nonresidents and foreign residents and East Africans will be charged 10,000 UGX for visits to the Zziwa rhino sanctuary. However fees for rhino tracking, nature walks, bird watching and the shoebill experience will be charged independently when visiting the rhino sanctuary in 2024.

 Other fees charged apart from park entrance fees for visiting national parks in Uganda in 2024include fines for off the track driving, over speeding fines, fines for late rescheduling for gorilla and chimpanzee permits (25% of the permit fee), vehicle entrance fee among other fines.
