What Are Activities In Nyungwe National Park? Nyungwe national park is located in Southwestern region of Rwanda and it considered among the best Rwanda safari destination in the country and it was established as a national park in 2004 considered it to be among the newest game parks in the country which stands at an elevated area of about 160 meters and 2950 meters above the sea level and it is considered to be among the smallest game parks in the country which covers a total surface area of about 300 square kilometers as it shares boarders with other countries like; the Democratic Republic of Congo. More so, Nyungwe national park is surrounded with a good vegetation cover and other beautiful physical feature such as; montane forests, bamboo forests, savannah grasslands, swamps which also act as good natural habitats to many wildlife species.

Bird watching.
Tourists exploring within Nyungwe national park can opt to go for bird watching, which is best done during morning hours when the birds are always so active moving around the park as they sing. Canopy walks are considered to be the most commonly done activity within the park and these walks always begin from the visitors centre and goes for about 2 hours as individuals walk through the Nyungwe forest. And for tourists who plan on embarking onto this activity should note that these walks involve you to walk through different trails as you are being accompanied by the park guide whose role is to lead tourists through due to the fact they are so familiar with many parts of the park. more so, the interesting to know about these trails is that each of them is named according to the tree species such as; Igishigishi trail which is surrounded by the fern trees and it is considered to be the main trail, the Umuvoye trail which is surrounded by mahogany trees and there other trails like; Isumo trail and Karamba trail among others. more so, tourists should be aware that these canopy walks are being divided into three walking sections such as; the longest one covers about 90 meters while the second one stretches up to 45 meters, and the shortest one covers only about 25 meters.
