Your 4 Days Bwindi & Lake Bunyonyi tour itinerary will start in Kampala and then you will visit the Bwindi national park for a gorilla trekking experience. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi national park
- Transfer to Bwindi: You will be met by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about the details of your 4 days’ trip. After the briefing, you will be driven to Bwindi national park with a stopover at Igongo cultural center for lunch as you also visit the museum at this cultural center to learn more about the Ankole culture. After lunch, you will continue to drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park where you will check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight at Buhoma haven lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
- Gorilla Trekking Experience: You will wake up for an early morning breakfast at your lodge and check out of the lodge as you prepare for gorilla trekking. You will be driven to the park headquarters with your packed lunches for briefing about the gorilla trekking. You will be divided into groups as you prepare to venture into the impenetrable Bwindi forest in search of the endangered gorillas. During gorilla trekking, you will see many bird species and other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys as well as butterflies and different tree species.
- Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi: After gorilla trekking experience, you will return to the briefing point where you will meet your guide and you will proceed to Lake Bunyonyi where you will check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages.
Day 3: Morning boat cruise and community walk
- Boat Cruise: You will have an early morning breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for your morning boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery such as beautiful terraces, islands like the punishment island where unmarried pregnant girls were left on this island as punishment. You will also enjoy relaxing along the shores and other activities such as swimming since this lake is safe for tourists and the local communities.
- Community Walk (Batwa Community Walk): After swimming, you will have lunch and then proceed for a community walk later on in the day. During the community walk, you will interact with the batwa people who are known for being forest dwellers in the Bwindi forest and you will learn about their culture, watch traditional dance performances, see local arts and crafts and listen to traditional melodies and more cultural aspects. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages.
Day 4: Departure
- Departure: You will have an early morning breakfast at your lodge and then check out of your lodge. You will proceed to visit the equator where you will enjoy photographic moments, visit craft shops to get souvenirs and also have lunch. After lunch, you will continue with your journey back to Kampala where your guide will drop you off at your preferred location which will mark the end of your trip.
