The 9 Days Uganda Safari takes you to the Pearl of Africa ‘’a land of hospitable people and home to a diversity of wildlife, and primates, primates as well as a unique culture. Places to visit during your safari in Uganda include; Jinja at the Source of Nile, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking, Kibale Forest National Park for Gorilla trekking, and a visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park for wildlife viewing and boat cruise. This trip starts in Kampala and ends at Entebbe International Airport.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Jinja Excursion 

On day 1 of the 9 Days Uganda Safari, Depending on your point of location in Kampala, you will be picked up by our safari driver guide to drive you to Jinja. Jinja is home to the source of the Nile. You will drive through the Lugazi sugar plantations and Mabira forest (Uganda’s largest rainforest) with en route stopovers. Arrive in Jinja, then connect to Itanda Falls, explore the beauty of the falls, and return to Jinja town for lunch.

After lunch, go to the source of the Nile, engage into the boat trip to the point where the source of River Nile was discovered, that connects Lake Victoria. Then after, return to meet your driver to drive back to your own reserved Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls – Rhino tracking and top of the falls visit

On day 2 of the 9 Days Uganda Safari you will be picked up by our company representative/ driver who will drive you to Murchison Falls National Park, en route Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary 2-3 hours’ drive for a Rhino trekking experience.

After the activity you will have lunch then connect to Murchison Falls National Park entering through the Kichumbanyobo gate from Masindi town. Upon arrival, connect to your lodge to rest.  Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game drive and launch cruise

Wake up early have morning breakfast and then go for a morning game drive at the delta where you expect to see animals like elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs among others.

Return and have lunch then at 2 pm, you set off for a launch cruise at the bottom of the Murchison Falls along River Nile, enjoy streaming views of hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink and bathe. After the boat cruise at the bottom of the falls, you will be picked up by your driver to return to your lodge. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park – Bigodi swamp walk 

Have breakfast and head on your drive to Kibale National Park– the best safari destination in Africa for a chimpanzee tracking experience. Arrive in Fort portal in time for lunch, then connect for a nature walk at Bigodi swamp for about 2 hours then drive to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

After breakfast, go for chimpanzee trekking with your packed food and water. Meet your guide at the head office then enter the rainforest trails to start searching for the chimpanzee. The trekking experience will take 2-5 hours to find the chimpanzees. On finding them, you will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees while taking pictures.

After a great experience of seeing the chimps, embark on a 3 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park from Fort portal with en-route lunch.  Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning game drive and Boat cruise 

On  day 6 of the 9 Days Uganda Safari, after breakfast early morning, go for a lion tracking experience where you are guaranteed to view the lions, enjoy an en-route game drive at the Kisenyi area where you will explore a good number of wildlife such as Elephants, Buffaloes, and all species of antelopes.

After enjoying your lunch at the lodge, go for your boat trip along the Kazinga channel for yet another wildlife/birding experience as you cruise on lake Edward/George.  Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

You will drive out of the park, after breakfast and connect to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park (home of Uganda Mountain Gorillas) with en-route via Ishasha sector for chances of spotting the tree climbing lions. Continue with en-route lunch. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking experience.

Wake up early, have breakfast, and connect to the forest with your packed food and water. The briefing from the park warden about the gorilla starts at 8 am where you will be guided on gorilla rules. The hike can take anything from 2-7 hours. Once you reach the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand 6 meters away. Return to the lodge to unwind and dinner.

Day 9: Fly to Entebbe Airport (8-9 hours’ drive) 

After breakfast, meet with the guide/driver and connect to Kihihi airstrip for a 1 hours flight back to Entebbe International Airport.
