Why do the lions climb trees?

Lions climb trees because they want to view as in wait to hang on preys as their main food, they get great view of these species as loitering around the park. These big cats can easily pounce on their food mostly the antelopes without easily noticing that there’s predators around.

They also climb the trees to escape the heat from the ground and getting shelter from the rain. Sometimes the temperature can usually go up to 28 degrees which is not conducive to the cats thus leading them to climb the trees.

This is because the trees provide a cool resting place for the cats after a long day of hunting due to the wide branches they have that can accommodate them.

The trees also protect the lions from insect bites mostly the tsetse flies that attacks the animals during wet seasons but don’t get worried in Queen Elizabeth national park there’s no tsetse flies that attack the animals.

Recently ,2022 in the month of April two huge lions were found dead due to wrong interconnection of Electricity which lead to their death.

Sometimes they face a problem of natural death which also reduces on their number of death drastically.

The fight which develop between the dominant males over the leader of pride also leads to the loss of some lions in the park.
