Detailed safari itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi home of Uganda Gorillas
On day one of the 4 days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe by our driver guide who will brief you on our 4 Days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari. After the briefing we transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park located in the western part of Uganda. The long drive will take you 9 hours drive from Kampala but it is worth it as you will enjoy the scenic views of Pearl of Africa. You will have a stopover at the equator for photography before we continue with our driver for the lunch destination that is in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge/Buhoma Haven lodge
Day 2: Gorilla trekking–Bwindi
Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for the highlights of our 4 Days Bwindi Gorilla trekking safari that is Gorilla trekking. The Gorilla trekking experience starts with a briefing by the ranger guides where you will be divided into groups of 8 people and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.
On finding them, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates. After we trek back to the park headquarters or the ranger will communicate with your driver to meet you somewhere if far and drive back to the park headquarters. You will open your lunch packs as you refresh and relax in the middle of the forest. After drive back to our lodge for rest with optional activities available like community walk, birding and many more. Dinner and overnight Lodge as above
Day 3: Full day Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up at leisure have breakfast before we transfer to lake Bunyonyi. The lake is located between Kisoro and Kabale. This is the second deepest lake in Africa with a depth between 44m and 900m deep and width of about 7 to 25kms. Our drive is more scenic as we view the Switzerland of Africa called Kigesi Highlands with hills and slops rolling. Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi with great scenic views of surrounding hills, we connect to our lodge for lunch. After lunch, we go for a boat ride/ canoe paddle and visit the main islands including the community as well as getting the sunset views while on water. The islands at the lake have a great history that you will love to listen to. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort.
Day 4: Transfer back to Entebbe and Departure
As we come to the end of our 4 Days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari, you will have breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to Kampala arriving in the afternoon. Drop off at your hotel in Kampala, or Entebbe airport for your onward flight.
